Has anyone with kids just sold up everything and left the UK?

Just wondered whether anyone’s sold up and taken their life outside of the UK? Permanently or for a year or two…. Especially with kids in tow? Would love to hear your journey and regrets at the time to where you are right now? Even if you came back?

I’m thinking of selling up and taking my kids on a year’s adventure. They are 8 & 11 and my eldest is due to go to senior school in September. Both myself and my wife are in well paid, high stress work.

Best place to stay for Christmas?

We are a family of 6, including 2 kids (8&11) and 2 grandparents. We are looking at spending 10-14 days throughout the Christmas period in a cabin. Some of us will ski including the kids, however we aren’t necessarily looking to ski everyday and will want some chill time or go off somewhere.

Our options are:

Stay around Lillehammer/Hafjell
Trysil
Geilo

Best option/thoughts?

Thanks!

Evening, I’m UK based and I tell businesses when to seek investment and build investor decks - Angel, all the way through to series A,B,C,D’s….. I’ve been doing it for 5 years now. I also work the other side, for private investors, businesses on acquisitions or family offices who want my opinion. I’m a lone wolf and I work only from referrals. It started with a friend 6 years ago, and since I left my job, it’s become my niche. I’m not accountancy trained.

I’ve worked from starting in the UK, then Europe, the Middle East and more recently been getting great traction in US. I do not use AI ever and sign a non AI disclosure with all my clients, so the work is never the same.

If you are wondering whether to raise, when to raise or want any investment deck advice, Ask away. I’m not advertising anything but just want to help any small business out there who might be stuck.
