First-fixing pipework for radiators before they arrive?
We’ve got Milano Windsor 3-column radiators from BestHeating on order with the floor-mounting feet, but we ordered late and didn’t realise the lead time.
We need to get the carpets/floors finished before we move in, so waiting for the radiators to arrive would put the programme at risk. The plumber has the manufacturer drawings and confirmed pipe-centre measurements, so the plan is to set/drill the pipe positions beforehand.
BestHeating have confirmed the radiators sit 22mm off the finished wall and the tapping centre is 74mm from the wall, even with the feet. We’re just checking how that works with the existing skirting boards, as they may project into that 22mm gap.
Has anyone fitted these and first-fixed from the supplied dimensions before the radiators arrived? Would you be comfortable doing it this way?
Is this just a terrible idea?
