[FREE FRIDAY] The oldest standing Maronite Church in the world, Saint Mammes (Mar Mema) Church in North Lebanon. It has been in service since 749 A.D.

Built in the simple and traditional Maronite "cube" design. It was built over a pagan temple, even using the temple's stones in the construction of the church. Most of the oldest Maronite churches were purposely built over pagan temples.

Lebanese bakeries selling PLAIN Kaakeh Asrouniyeh/Trabelsiye in Dubai?

Hello, I've been trying to find a bakery that sells ka3ak in Dubai and I've been living here all my life and never found a bakery that actually sells plain kaak like they do in Lebanon.

Kaaki w Nos has them but they're 9aed a piece, I need around 20 kaakeh for a gathering and I don't think I should be paying 180aed for kaak unless there's really no other option...

Thanks in advance

[FREE FRIDAY] Monastery of Saint Anthony Qozhaya, Lebanon. Tucked in between mountains of the UNESCO Holy Valley of Qadisha in North Lebanon, it is one of the most important religious sites for the Maronite Catholics.

It is dedicated to Saint Anthony the Great, my patron saint and it's where I was baptized. Its history is very strongly associated with Maronite resilience from persecution.

Read more about it here.

Maronite mass in Dubai

Hello, I live in Dubai and go to mass on Saturday in St. Francis Jebel Ali, but the mass is in Latin Arabic, does anybody know if there is any Maronite mass in St Francis or is the only Maronite mass in St Mary?

Thanks in advance

Not a big gun expert but aren't most of these HK "products" Turkish/Egyptian or Iranian?

Should I do anything about this minor rust? Or is it normal wear and tear? (2016)

Hello, I know this is minor rust but I live in Dubai and rust is generally not a huge concern here, unless cars are really old or are imported from the US so I don't really know anything about rust damage.

One owner since new, I was changing the oil on it yesterday and saw this while it was lifted, should I be taking any preemptive measures or is it regular surface rust that won't damage anything? Thanks in advance

Hello guys, long story short, my father retired from Dubai and went back to our home country. I ended up with 2 cars, my dad's single owner 2016 Lexus GX460 and my 2nd owner 2016 Rav 4 (bought used), I only have one parking spot in my apartment.

  • GX460 is a full option (Platinum), very comfortable car with decent acceleration and offroad capability (I take it to the desert occasionally every winter), has 305k kms and all service until 250K was done at Al Futtaim, the car is in a very good condition. Only 2 drawbacks I can think of are eventual failure of the air suspension and higher fuel costs. At 300k kms, and due to current fuel prices, it's gonna be a much more difficult sale.
  • RAV4 has 130k KMs, it's a very basic car (VX, 2WD), gets the job done, reliable and much more fuel efficient. However, compared to the Lexus, it's not a very comfortable car, it can't go offroading since it's a 2WD. I know it's the more logical car to keep but it will be much easier to sell.

My daily commute is no more than 18kms in total (Greens to JLT) and I'm never stuck in traffic, Lexus' fuel economy is 14L/100kms compared to the RAV4's 9L/100km. After calculating, I'm spending double the amount on fuel but it ends up being a difference of around 1600 aed/year (AED 3000 vs AED 1400).
