Today the Arkansas Goat Festival released their new t-shirt on Facebook and seemed shocked when their obvious AI design received a less than stellar reaction. In previous years, these shirts were designed by local artists so it was especially hurtful to the local community. Instead of acknowledging the whole fiasco, they took down the design (while still planning to sell it), and doubled down by making another post telling people to stop being rude. They then deleted that one, too. With most of Arkansas fighting to keep AI data centers out of our state, it’s a bold move for a small town festival to take work from Arkansas artists while promoting AI artwork.
