just venting here cuz idk what to do
so for some context i am 15f, living in a westren country
Anyway, last year (10th grade) I started getting to know people and making more friends. Since I go to a mixed school, there are obviously going to be guys around and I can’t control that. It’s not like I’m trying to be with guys — it just happens. Anyway, I had a class with three people: two girls and one guy. There was also a guy who knew my mom (his mom is my mom’s friend), and basically me and this group were extremely close. My friendship with all of them was sooo good. Then this jerk went and told my mom that I was surrounded by guys all the time, and he started spreading rumors about me. After this incident, I actually started isolating myself completely. My headphones were always in, and I was ignoring everyone. Every time my mom thought I was with anyone who wasn’t a girl, wasn’t Muslim, and wasn’t Arab, I’d get in trouble. She literally got me in so much trouble because of this. Anyway, any tips?
i dont know what to do for my college application
To begin with, I consider myself a very average high school student because I'm kind of surrounded by geniuses. For some context, I'm not from the United States, and I didn't really start living in the U.S. until 2023. I started high school in 2024, and I honestly didn't know what to do. I had no friends, no older students to guide me, and everyone basically told me, "Figure it out yourself."
Currently, I feel like I'm being pressured to do everything during my junior and senior years. I'm not planning on applying to Top 10 universities because I don't think I'm the strongest applicant for those schools, and I know getting accepted would be extremely difficult. However, I do want to apply to some Top 50 universities and see what happens.
These are the AP classes that I either have taken or plan to take:
- AP World History
- AP Seminar
- AP Computer Science
- AP Physics 1
- AP Physics 2
- AP English Language and Composition
- AP English Literature and Composition
- AP Research
- AP U.S. History
- AP Biology
- AP Environmental Science
- AP Statistics
- AP Microeconomics / Macroeconomics
- AP Psychology
- AP Precalculus
- AP Calculus
For extracurricular activities, I am involved in:
- HOSA
- DECA
- Model United Nations
- Track and Field
- A photography Instagram page where I post my work
- Science Fair for three years (I won one year and plan to compete again next year for my third year)
My GPA is honestly kind of average. Between my freshman and sophomore years, I have around a 3.9 weighted GPA.
I also have a certificate showing that I am fluent in both Arabic and English.
Even with all of this, I still don't know what I should do. What universities should I apply to, and what else should I be focusing on?
