I hat is this affect called?
I bought these boots, they’re 20 years old, but brand new. I received them on the mail, and they have this thing going on where there is some lighter color appearing underneath the dark brown glossy parts.
I figured that it’s part of the way they look, that the more I wear them, the more that lighter color will be exposed over time. I kind of like it, aside for the part near the welt on the second picture, where it’s more exposed.
So, 1.) What’s it called? 2.) Am I correct that this is by design? 3.) If not, is it something that can be corrected?
They’re not scratched, dry, or anything of the sort. I’m imagining time just did its thing.
