Abuse and threats ignored by company
Hi just looking for some advice I work in a pub kitchen and was asked to cover the bar for 10 minutes. We have a customer who drinks 6 or 7 beers and then gets in his car, I don’t agree with drink driving and said that I wouldn’t serve him but that if he waited a few minutes another staff member would.
He proceeded to shout insults at me calling me a c—- among others. Then stormed out.
I raised this with the company and he put in a complaint about me.
The company ignores my issue raised and apologises to him and gives him a voucher while putting me on disciplinary
He continues to drink in the pub and has made repeated threats that he will run me down with his car if he ever sees me in the street. He also makes abusive and potentially racial remarks about me to other customers.
I raised this with my line manager whose view was “deal with it”
What should I do in this situation ?
