builded a new mod for B42: LootSense QuickStack (Terraria type quick stack that I wanted in PZ)

ok it's me again, sorry. last one for a while I swear.

a few days back I posted LootSense: Storage labels on containers that tags on items. while building it I kept thinking "this is fine, but I really want the Terraria 'Quick Stack to Nearby Chests' button too." you know the one. the button I press 400 times per session.

so here it is: LootSense: QuickStack. To be honest it's a bit cheat mod (depends where you're looking) pls note that but saves a lot of time and you can focus on other things like farming, killing all zombies in the city etc.

How to use:

right-click any item in your inventory, three modes:

  • Quick Stack Only: items go to nearby containers that already hold the same kind. no labels needed.
  • Smart Unload Nearby: full pipeline: labels + item tags + content matching, one click.
  • Sort by Labels Only: strict, only your labels count.

each has a Preview variant: opens a window showing exactly what'll move and what stays before you commit. items walk to the container via vanilla transfer actions, no teleport, vanilla speed, MP-safe.

Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3733862305
Required: LootSense: Storage

bugs or suggestions welcome. now I'll go play some PZ instead of working on PZ for a minute.

Just wrote an item tagging B42 Mod. I'll not forget which drawer had the medkit anymore..

Got tired of forgetting which of five identical drawers had the medkit. The labeling mods out there were either auto-sort tools or full inventory overhauls. Rolled my own.

Right-click any container, pick one of 9 preset labels (Food, Medical,Tools, Ammo, Books, Car Parts, Electronics, Weapons, Junk). Coloredborder on the icon button, label in the title bar, star marker if favorited. Items work the same way: right-click, pick Important /Emergency / Keep / Dismantle / Junk, tag shows as a prefix.

No auto-sort, no auto-transfer, no balance changes. Vanilla transfer time and inventory limits stay untouched. Just the cognitive layer on top.

MP friendly, modded items work, vehicle storage covered.

Feedback welcome. Pretty sure that covers most play styles but if there's a category I missed I'm open to adding it. Here is the link:

Made a B42 mod where your eyes actually adapt to darkness over time

Been in a discussion here earlier today about pitch-dark B42 rooms. A reply pointed out that IRL eyes adapt to darkness given a few minutes. Got stuck in my head, sat down and built it..

The basic loop: walk into a dark room and you genuinely can't see anything for the first stretch. Over the next 20 in-game minutes (configurable) your night vision builds up and you can navigate. Step back outside into daylight and a quick warm flash washes the screen, because your pupils were wide open. Adaptation decays slowly in a lit indoor room ( apprx. 40 min default) faster outdoors (10 min). It used to be instant outdoor reset but it felt way too punishing during testing.

Couple of things worth mentioning before anyone installs it: The actual world-lighting buff is single-player only. I turned it off in MP on purpose because a shared lighting source would let one adapted player x-ray a teammate hiding in the dark, which kills the whole ambush mechanic. The glare flash still fires in MP since it's ust a screen overlay on the local player, so other people see nothing.

7 sliders if you want to tune it on options menu of the mode.

This is the limited version of a better thing I'm working on. Wanted to ship the core loop first and see what people think before piling on more behavior. Not compatible with Room Light Boost (my another mode) btw, that's the alwayson ambient approach I did first. They both spawn light, they'll stack ugly.

Feedback especially welcome on the timing values. 20 min for full adaptation feels right to me but I'm one person testing.

Realistic Power grid on Project Zomboid? try my mod.

I made a Build 42 mod that turns electricity into a real building-level system.

It’s called Amperage - Realistic Power Grid.

Instead of simple generator on/off logic, each building now has its own electrical model. The mod scans devices inside the building, calculates live load, checks generator/grid power, and trips the breaker if the building overloads.

You can craft and install an Electrical Panel, then use the breaker UI to monitor current load, base load, peak load and capacity.

Outdoor panels can also take rain damage, and damaged panels can be repaired with electronics scrap and sheet metal.

Basically, safehouse electricity now has consequences.

Tested on Build 42.18. Single-player works fully, co-op should work, dedicated server is untested.

I’d really appreciate feedback if anyone wants to try it.

dark rooms of b42 FIXED

Hi guys, I made a small Build 42 mod because the pitch black interiors were honestly starting to hurt the gameplay for me.

Sometimes you can’t even see your inventory, your character, or the zombie right next to you 😅

So I made a simple ambient room light mod that makes indoor areas readable again without turning the game into night vision or killing the atmosphere outside.
It’s basically meant to feel closer to Build 41 visibility while still keeping the Build 42 mood intact.

It has adjustable brightness from 0% to 100% in Mod Options.

If you want to check it out or give feedback, I’d really appreciate it:
