The (Mostly) Finished Ocean Miku Papercraft

I really did not want to bring this to university so I speed ran to the end. Since the work in progress post, I probably spent 25ish hours making the final parts (dress, panda, hair) and I'm guessing I spent 200 hours in total over 2.5 months. AND IT'S STILL NOT DONE because I'm missing some pieces of coral (photo at the end) but it's close enough and I'm not waiting until December to call it mission complete. The coral pieces are about as big as Miku's fingers and I distinctly remember each hand taking 3-5 hours to complete. Anyways, I'm slightly scared due to the weight distribution causing Miku to lean so I'm hoping the super glue I used on her ankle is as strong as advertised.

Addressing some common questions from the last post. Yes, this is all paper. It took a very long time to make. That said, I used a template someone else made. I'm assuming ZuoZuo (creator) did this by making a 3D model of Miku and then exporting it to Pepakura, an unfolding software that allows you to break a model up into pieces for printing. This was made with Photo Matte 120 gsm paper US Letter size ($10 for 120 sheets, this model in particular is 24 sheets iirc), glue ($6), super glue ($7), set of tweezers ($5), and a scalpel (given to me, but likely costs a couple cents). Scrap paper was used as a cutting mat. So anyone can make this, provided they are willing to spend some money (printer not included) and a lot of time. Just make sure your printer can handle 120gsm because it is thicker than normal paper and has caused multiple jams during the printing process for me.

EDIT:

the super glue worked as advertised. unfortunately, the model is now warping instead of breaking. as a stopgap measure I got a ruler to be used as a splint/stabilizer but I will have to wait until thanksgiving break to give Miku an acrylic dowel rod to help her stand up. hopefully she does not die before then or else I will quite literally cry a river

Work in Progress Miku

Not sure if I should bring it to university to finish it because I don't know what kind of people my roommates are. However, if I keep it at home I won't be able to finish it until probably December so idk.

I have in progress work photos from the very beginning, but I'll show those once I actually finish the model.

EDIT: I forgot to credit the guy who made the templates: ZuoZuo (左左)

EDIT 2: Thanks for all the positive responses! Its a bit too much to reply to them all but I'll do it here.

Ace Combat Crashing on CrossOvers 26.2

Title

The title screen loads and then I get an error (Error 3 for CrossOvers) and it immediately crashes. I'm using a M4 Mac Tahoe 26.5.1 and have already tried all the DXVK, DXMT, MSync, etc etc Bottle modifications. Metal 4 and 24 GB Memory if that matters.

Any thoughts on what could be wrong? I'd be fine with sending crash reports as well if someone is an expert on it although I'd prefer not to go through the process of removing all the PII from it.

EDIT: Ace Combat 7 to be exact

EDIT 2: I did a ton of random BS (without making changes one at a time) and somehow the game is working. I'm really confused as to how but at least the loading screen works now. Just need to test a couple missions and see what happens.

120gsm Paper causing jam in Epson XP-7100

I’ce been trying to print 120gsm one page at a time through the rear cassette of the Epson XP7100. considering it can handle upwards of 165gsm (Epson Premium Matte Paper) and I have successfully printed a test page, I thought it’d be fine. however, every subsequent attempt lead to a jam. any ideas?

also I’ve checked the rollers to see if dust is an issue. the thing is, I don’t know how you manually rotate the roller because it is just stuck in place so I haven’t cleaned it

I was going to finish the F16 model from a previous post but I lost motivation and I made some other stuff like custom Minecraft models. Anyways here is cool salad girl.

and another question because I’m new to this: how do I get some quality cardstock printed without a printer? All the print shops near me print things like business cards or some really fancy signs and posters that doesn’t seem to do any papercraft stuff. Is there any big chain store or shop that doesn’t seem to do commercial prints and instead do more consumer things?
