Head dry out prevention
How do you all prevent the head drying out?
Is a full colour test print per week what is needed or are there other things to do to keep the printer in good shape?
Thanks

I’ce been trying to print 120gsm one page at a time through the rear cassette of the Epson XP7100. considering it can handle upwards of 165gsm (Epson Premium Matte Paper) and I have successfully printed a test page, I thought it’d be fine. however, every subsequent attempt lead to a jam. any ideas?
also I’ve checked the rollers to see if dust is an issue. the thing is, I don’t know how you manually rotate the roller because it is just stuck in place so I haven’t cleaned it
We have a WF-7840 and the way the printer is set up to stop any operation when one of the ink cartridges is out drives me mad. Just want to put this out there online for anyone looking to buy a printer for their business.. This is not the one. They (Epson) run the company like an ink company rather than a printer company. It also prints lousy quality.
i have been trying to clean this printer for days just to get this black line complete, but after all of the cleaning it's still like this. it prints lines on standard quality but on high quality, it does not. please help me
I bought this printer for the high quality images but I want them on cardstock. Unfortunately cardstock must be funneled through the booty cheeks of the printer at the back. This leads to a 0.8mm cutoff at the bottom. Does anyone know how to get around this other than shrinking the images on the paper. Can I purchase a longer sheet of cardstock and move the 0.8mm cutoff downwards? I really like this printer but it is inconveniencing me and prints slow as hell. I understand why it's so slow but its not worth if I can't even print my image full sized.
My Epson ET-8500 stopped printing both blacks: both pigment and ink one went one after the other, never to be seen on paper again...
I have been stuck with this issue for weeks now, and don't know what else I could do: I have ran cleaning cycles every day (not the deep cleaning, I don't want to do that as I feel it's a waste of ink), I tried soaking the nozzles in IPA/surfactants, I have tried printing the pages that are fully black: nothing helps.
I am wondering if black inks are somehow different in their composition, which causes them to clog up more? The other colours print perfectly fine, and if they clog up,. they clean up easily.
I would be really grateful for any hints or resources that could help me address this issue, as I am at my wits end!
All of a sudden my printer isn’t recognizing printer cartridges. Cartridges are nearly full and I don’t have the old empty ones. I’ve power off and unplugged, removing cartridges. Repowered, cleaned contacts and reinserted cartridges, but continue to get the same message “Cannot recognize ink cartridges. Try installing again.” I don’t know what else to do. I bought this printer last fall to print a couple of tax document, and probably haven’t gotten more than 50 printed sheets out of it. I think this is bullshit.
Hello,
I have an Epson EH-LS11000W projector and I want to connect both a PS5 and a soundbar to it.
My HDMI cables are both 15 m active optical HDMI 2.1 cables, so they are directional and marked “Source” and “Display.”
Am I correct that the proper setup should be:
I mainly want to make sure I get the cable directions right and that this is the best way to preserve PS5 features like 4K/120 while sending audio to the soundbar.
Help! I'm trying my hand at creating 5x7 inch greeting cards. When I go to printer settings there are no predefined settings for 10x7 (folded to 5x7). When I select "User Defined" it doesn't give me an option for 10x7 and won't let me enter that size manually. I want the printout to be borderless. I've been doing test runs on Epson 8.5x11 Premium MATTE paper and then cutting it down to size. I want to buy some heavier greeting card stock that is already 10x7 and scored but don't know how I'm going to be able to print on it. What am I missing here? A key note is that I want borderless. Am using Photoshop for my design.
Any suggestions?
Please help! I am trying to print this photo and the quality is the absolute worst. I just put in new ink, but it is not helping. It is a 4x6 inch print if that is helpful. Thank you!
Hello! I have an Epson ET-2850, and I'm moving apartments in one week. I was wondering what the best recommendation for moving with an inktank printer like this is.
The ink levels are each about 80% full right now. I'm fine with emptying or lowering them if needed, but it seems wasteful if not necessary.
The new apartment is a 20 minute drive away. I can take it myself and try to be careful to keep it level, but a bit of jostling is sure to happen, especially since my new place is up a flight of stairs.
Thank you!
Hi,
Recently i bought the ET-8550 and i’ve been printing some great quality A3 borderless art for my customers.
This week i am on holiday and wanted to print remotely. Downloaded the drivers, setup etc.
But for some reason it keeps printing A4 on my A3 paper and i can’t figure out how to fix it.
Both my settings on the printer and the preview on my laptop show A3 but when it starts printing somehow an A4 print comes out on my A3 paper…
No idea how to fix it, does anybody know or experienced the same thing?
ET-2840 has been connected to the WiFi for a month and worked previously. We have not been using it much since we are trying to use up ink from other printers we have first. Today, went to print from it and it would show up in the list of printers on computers, phones and my iPad, but it wouldn’t connect. Went to the Smart Panel app and the Smart Panel couldn’t find it, either. Tried to reset the network settings and start it like a new printer in the app. I got as far as setting it back up on the WiFi, but once it tried to add it to the app, it said it’s not found.
It’s on the WiFi, same WiFi as our devices (it’s literally the only WiFi around), the WiFi it USED TO WORK ON, but it won’t communicate with any local network devices. All of the required devices have permissions for local area network access. What’s going on?
Cover of the PDF I tried printing: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EYjumFXxNZzBxxJAksLpaRGm6P0u91Q0/view?usp=sharing
Photos I took of the prints with and without flash: https://photos.app.goo.gl/TckDSDQpGixB5eBN7
I'm finding the prints are just really faded, which has surprised me considering everything I saw was it was a photo printer.
Any suggestions? I'm setting the prints to use best quality in the print context, unsure what else to try?
i’m having a lot of trouble with cleaning and i’ve tried a bunch of maintenance stuff but i can’t see to fix this. it happens mostly with glossy and vinyl paper, in matte paper is more subtle or doesn’t happen at all. i’ve did multiple cleanings both the normal one and the deep one and i feel like i’m just wasting ink at this point lmao i also feel like i’m going through the ink faster and maybe it’s connect, but i don’t think so 🤔 does anyone has any idea of how to fix it?
tldr; 4x6 borderless prints are not printing all the way to the bottom edge after firmware update to ET 8550.
I have used multiple epson et 8550s for a long time with good results. I recently purchased a new one and noticed that 4x6 borderless prints were not printing all the way to the bottom. I returned the printer thinking it was defective and bought another one. The new one has the same issue. I have done tons of troubleshooting and I am stumped. The only other thing that I can think of is that it might be related to the latest firmware update.
The image shows a sample of 9 prints of the same image. 2 on the left came out fine while the 7 on the right all have a small unprinted sliver at the bottom. I have done this test with multiple images and the issue is the same. Some prints are fine, others come out with the unprinted edge.
I use all epson paper and ink, no 3rd party.
Things I have tried:
Turn on/off printer and PC
Power off printer and unplug for 30 min
Verify all settings (4x6, premium photo paper glossy)
Alignment check/adjustment (x5)
Nozzle check/cleaning (x5)
Using a different pack of paper
Update firmware/software
Upscaling/downscaling images
Adjust expansion slider
Printing from other trays
Adjust paper feed tray to make sure paper is entering straight
Change ink drying time
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anybody have a solution? Thanks.
My wife bought this printer for her business and all was smoothe sailing up until it came time to actually print. We set it up following the app instructions and steps on the device; after connecting it to wi-fi it wants to setup the paper size and run a nozzle test. I put paper in and selected the size, hit run nozzle test and it immediately shoots two pieces of paper out and says "Out of paper in casette 2". After about 2 hours and countless "phantom" paper jams I think I might cite this printer as a reason for our divorce. Out of paper in casette 2 might just be what's written on my tombstone. We just keep getting error after error and I've practically taken the thing apart. We've tried the epson customer support which is an oxoron btw and nothing will help. I really just need some guidance before I rip out all of my hair.
TLDR: Paper in tray, says no paper, won't print even the first nozzle test
