Printer not showing my computer anymore.

Mine is an epson 2803. I have been using the scanner and it worked just fine. It gave all of my images a pure white background whoch eas good for qhat im making. I had to restart my pc, when I opened it back up, the computer was not on the screen anymore. Its still connected because I can print from my computer. The quality of the image when I print from the computer was not what I was getting using the scanner itself and I dont get that same white background.

New to the group.

Hey everyone, I unironically purchased a Epson ET-8550. I purchased it for home use, not commercial use. I became aware of the following after the fact. Can anybody recommend some good photo paper. I've already read that Epson paper is good for Epson ink and printers. Just looking for more variety.

I understand this printer tends to get people "sweaty" in the comments. I apologize in advance. Lol.

Epson Perfection 4490 Scanner Troubleshooting Help!

Just got this scanner online (used), and the seller provided evidence that it was previously working beforehand. When it arrived and I turned it on, there was a rubbing sound, and all I get is a loud, long beep with the LED flashing red. It also seems as if the top lamp refuses to go up. Please help!

(I’ve tried using the software in compatibility mode, resetting WIA, and using a windows 10 VM but to no avail, so I’m guessing it may just be the scanner itself.)

Epson P9000 color washout

Has anyone experienced an ink with washed out color? I recently replaced Vivid Light Magenta, and now everything with pinks or purple has weaker color. Test print is fine, but it’s hard to get a good read on the color from the test print. I always agitate the cartridge a bit before installing. Has anyone had this problem?

My new Epson et-8500 has stopped printing after about 10 sheets total

Hi All, I've never really posted online about anything but this printer is driving me crazy.

I have printed about 10 sheets so far through it and suddenly it made a weird clicking noise and then stopped all together. It's brand new straight out the box today!

Anyway, when I removed the last sheet of paper there were little bits of plastic, white and about the size of a grain of rice. What are these from? Why has it broken? and most importantly how do i fix it or get it repaired?

It won't feed any paper through it now even when it tries.

Attached are pictures of the bits of plastic

Thanks in advanced if anyone can help me!

P700/P900 Accounting Software?

I’m considering switching from my Canon photo printer to the P700 or P900 but I’m having trouble finding any kind of accounting software that tracks costs on ink and paper usage.

It looks like the PORT system isn’t compatible with these two models and I can’t find any download links for the LFP Accounting Tool.

Does anyone know of any software like this that’s available for the P700 or P900?

Ecotank-8550 nozzle print test failed multiple times and prints wrong colors, streaky and smudged

This printer was barely used, I bought it a couple years ago but was bad about using and maintaining it by running it once in a while (didnt know until today). Finally wanted to start printing my art again for business but ran into problems.

While the first few prints were okay though the colors were really off. As I continued to try test reprints to correct the colors by adjusting a combo of photoshop/printer settings, each print got worse and worse until it completely came out streaky AND faded like there was no more ink. Tried several nozzle tests without success and needed to end up waiting 12 hours to try again. Now the nozzletest came out like this. Though I admit the smudging might have happened because I accidentally used the wrong thickness paper, I'm not sure.

However the ink levels are 75% full and I worry perhaps because I didnt use the printer much, the ink has dried and the printer cant tell or something? Is that possible? How do I fix this? I'm at a loss here and need to get my stuff printed. Please, any help would be appreciated.

ET-2800 Stuck on Wavy Blue Screen

I moved a couple months ago and finally got around to setting up my ET-2800 printer. Immediately it wouldn’t turn on. I was able to get it on by plugging it in and holding the power button simultaneously but it has been stuck on this wavy screen. Google seems to indicate this may be a firmware problem but it’s been powered off in a box, there’s been no opportunity for it to get an update. Neither my Linux or Windows computers can see it via USB.

Would love any trouble shooting suggestions.

Please help

Hey everyone

I'm having an issue with my Epson ET-2720 printer scanner unit (Error code: E-02 / 100016).

Here is what is happening:

When turned on, the scanner carriage moves all the way to the end position (home position), but the motor doesn't stop. It keeps trying to turn and makes a loud grinding/clicking noise with the white gears skipping teeth.

The white calibration strip under the scanner glass fell off earlier. I put it back, but I'm not sure if I installed it correctly.

My model has two white strips (one wider strip and a narrow one). Should they be placed side-by-side (parallel) or stacked? Which direction/orientation should they face?

Does anyone have a clear diagram, photo, or advice on how the white calibration strips are supposed to be aligned under the glass?

Any help or photos from a working machine would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Epson Ecotank ET-8550 Wifi unusable after latest Firmware

The Latest firmware for this device (Released I think maybe back in May?) 05.51.OP16Q4 I think basically killed the wifi on this expensive printer. This printer worked in this location on the same wifi for 100s of prints no problem. I did a firmware update one day and came back to it only being able to finish one print in 30 min. The eventual work around was to run a ridculously long ethernet cable to it and it began working as intended again. I reached out to support, and of course they were less than helpful. The basic troubleshooting techinques and no help with firmware, how to revert, or anything.

Anyone else have this issue also?

Ink blots near edges of paper

Epson ET-2860

I keep getting this blotting issue on pages. Can't figure out a fix. Things I've tried:

- nozzle check is good

- cleaned print head via app and button press

- opened and dabbed a paper towel on print head and resting points.

- updated drivers, firmware, and software

- searching documentation trouble shooting

Other than this issue the print quality is perfect

I figured maybe the paper is curling up and catching the edge of the head but it's happening on all my paper types, even 200gsm card which is very flat

Any ideas?

Epson ET 8550 not giving me the ultrapremium photo paper option

I've done so much googling at this point to try my best to get rid of the old driver, reinstalling it, reinstalling the epson print layout program, turning off windows default install and windows manage printer options. I'm using a lan connection. Is there any other thing I can try to do to make this work?

Made a free tool to reset Epson waste ink counters because I'm sick of this scam (verified on ET-4800 and ET-4810)

So my ET-4800 threw the "ink pad end of service life" error today and I needed to print same day. Let's be real about what this error actually is: it's not a sensor, it's a page counter Epson built in specifically so they can lock your printer and make you pay someone to unlock it. The pads are probably fine. Doesn't matter, the printer doesn't care, it just wants you to cough up.

Tried WIC Reset Utility, froze on every single click and will only reset to 80% for free. Tried InkChip, no free option at all, $9.99 just to try it. Cool, so now I'm paying a third party to undo a paywall Epson built on purpose.

Great system.

So instead I spent the day reverse engineering it myself: Pad Zero

  • Free, open source, no paid tier, no trial keys, no nag screens, none of that
  • No driver replacement needed: no Zadig, no WinUSB, no admin rights
  • Full backup written before any write, every write gets read back and verified after
  • Simple window: colored dot (green/amber/red) shows how full your counter is, one button resets it

What it doesn't do: it's not magic, it resets the counter, not the actual pads. If yours are genuinely soaked you'll still want to replace them or run an external tank eventually. But you shouldn't have to pay a stranger on the internet just to keep printing while you sort that out.

Verified working on the ET-4800 (79.85% to 0.00%, confirmed) and ET-4810 (detected, read, and write path all verified). It has partial/approximate support for a bunch of other models too, but I'm only calling something "verified" once it's actually been confirmed on real hardware, not just guessed from a shared database. If you try it on your model, let me know and I'll add it.

Note: I've only tested this on machines that already had Python installed, so I can't promise a totally clean run on a bare Windows box yet. If something breaks, tell me what happened and I'll fix it.

GitHub: https://github.com/Damnitbran/padzero

Windows will probably throw a "Windows protected your PC" warning since the binary's unsigned, that's just what happens when you write a tool that undoes corporate nonsense. Click "More info" then "Run anyway," or check the SHA-256 in the release notes if you'd rather verify it yourself.

Epson SureColor P800 Vibrant Magenta and Yellow Completely Clogged

Hi Everyone,

I need your help regarding my next steps for fixing my Epson P800.

Basically, I purchased a P800 secondhand on Facebook Marketplace. The original owner passed away and hasn’t printed anything since 2021. I’ve performed nozzle head cleans (both regular and deep clean), and all colors besides vibrant magenta and yellow show up on the nozzle check test strip. I have recently tried the paper towel method where I soak the nozzle head with cleaning fluid, but that didn’t change my results.

I’m not very knowledgeable about printer maintenance, so what should I do to solve this issue? What is exactly happening? Should I call someone in for maintenance, or is there something else I could do? Let me know, and thank you.
