I'm talking about cold approach kind of thing, girl smiles at you, you going up asking for her number or out for a coffee or whatever, not being pissed in a club.
Are they sound, any bad stories or experiences?

There's a girl at a place I go to where I feel like she's been giving me signs for a pretty long time that she likes me, but I don't know how to ask her out without it being weird.
So far, she's smiled at me a few times, made prolonged eye contact with me, looked up at me while she was busy with other work and seemed happy to see me. She has gone out of her way to talk to me when she didn't need to, and maybe the clearest sign of all was when I was getting something beside her she kind of turned around and practically walked into my arms which seemed not accidental.
So the thing is, is that I messaged her on Facebook asking her out, but she never responded. Does anybody know if the unread Facebook messages category will show as read by her on my end, if she really did read it but chose not to respond?
I have never asked a girl out before that I didn't know, and she's on my mind almost all the time now, I'd like to ask her out but her not responding has made me think it might be all in my mind?
I've been a hermit for a good few years now and I'm getting pretty fed up with it. I'm a guy but I'm very interested in women's perspective on this, how is it for you? Does it feel like there are plenty of guys out there for you? It definitely does not feel that way as a man.
I don't know if it's just me but I get the impression people are just staying in their houses all the time now?
