I have some doubts regarding Economics since it is a BS Degree. Can we go towards tech roles if i take up BS Eco? Also as a girl, which would be a better option?
My rank is 14XXX and IITR Metallurgy is too close to get and also IITKGP Eco jumped around 1200 ranks. I may get any of these and rn i have IIT-Hyd MSME. Please guide!!!

Hi, my first time posting here. I am very confused as to what to choose between IITR and IITHyd Metallurgy Branch. Got alloted Hyd in the first round.
The thing is that I want to pursue Finance, Data Science and Consulting in the future. If i join IITR I'll have a shot at branch changing to Economics but its chances are very low. In Hyd, there is an option for Major. I am very confused as to what i should choose for better choices in the future. IIT Hyd is quite fast growing, so many companies are nearby and Roorkee is ofc top 7 IITs.
Where will i get better opportunities overall??? Please tell
