7 month old (semi) success story?? Hang in there!!

Been debating on whether I should post this or not since it’s not really a success story per se but I know that what helped me get through my LO’s 3, 4, 5, 6 month old regression (if that’s even what it’s called) was reading stories on here

Anyway, since my LO stopped sleeping through the night at 3 months old he’s been waking up every 30-60 minutes. After starting cosleeping happily to make our lives easier we knew we had to stop at around 6 months due to the size and height of our bed and tiny size of our Nordic apartment, we knew our little guy needed to move to his own bed.

We had to move him to his room because our bedroom is tiny so we moved his crib in there. And to say the least, it was awful. He started in there for the start of the evening, waking up every 30 mins and eventually came into bed with us when we went to bed. And then after weeks of this, he full on stopped allowing us to transfer him down. We’d wait 2, 20, 40, 60 minutes - you name it. He always woke up on every transfer.

I caved and bought a floor bed frame for his room. It arrived a week ago. I thought he was already going into our room so I might as well get a bed I could lie with him in and/or settle him directly in it. On day 2 I could lie with him and read him a book for his first nap, and he fell asleep?? (Fussed for a bit but nothing massive). On day 2 in the evening he woke up 5 times before 10 pm needing to be resettled, now 7 days later, he’s woken up 1 time before 10pm

I still join him at 11pm because he wakes up more than 3 times after midnight and I enjoy it + find it easier to be with him but wow - I could finish a whole film with my husband and he only needed go in one time (small wins lol)

So many times i considered sleep training but never found it right - and I know this will change/regress/etcetcetc but it’s so amazing to experience and see your little human figure it out in their own safe way 😭

Those that coslept in LOs room

My 7 months old just got a floor bed in his room - I slept with him the first night so that he’d feel safe and am planning on continuing frequently getting in with him or moving him to our bed during middle of the night wakes. However I wanted to ask those that have coslept with baby in *their* room, how did transitioning to reducing coming in their bed go? When/how did you do it? Am wondering whether it would be more confusing for him that I stop being in his bed vs moving him to his bed when we reduce cosleeping and only cosleep in our bed? Thanks so much ❤️

Btw I love cosleeping it’s just that our bed is too small and our apartment is tiny so we can’t invest in a bigger family bed. The floor bed we just got our LO is also just a single size so it’s tight when I’m in there with him too 🫠

I’m a FTM and my 7M old boy has never been a good sleeper - except for one week before he turned 4m old where he gave us insane long stretches during the night time. Always preferred contact/stroller napping and never slept for longer than 30 minutes in crib.

Well now he’s older, wake windows are lengthening and he is (I think?) extremely overtired. He does not only wake up 30 mins in his crib after being put to bed, but will wake up the second I put him back down, no matter how long I sit with him before. I end up cosleeping with him in our bed every night, which I don’t mind except now he’s started to move around and obviously wakes up to our sounds and moving around.

I’m considering getting a floor bed in his room so that I can at least lay with him but I don’t think it’ll be a magic solution. I’m very against sleep training but I’m losing my mind, I sleep so little (my husband helps but it’s easier if I just have him when cosleeping since he’s fed to sleep again) and I just want more than 30 minutes for myself once a day 😭 or more importantly, I want him to experience sleeping well and restorative for more than an hour by himself.

Don’t really know what I’m looking for by posting this, but if you had a similar situation I’d love to hear if/when it got better😭
