Welcome to Piazza Duomo, the spiritual and architectural core of Heliopolis city center. ​As the first-ranked city on r/MinecraftCities this month, I wanted to showcase the sheer scale of our main historical district. This square represents our vision of an "Utopian Metropolis" where European heritage meets modern urban planning. ​Key Technical & Urban Features: ​The Cathedral (Il Duomo): A colossus built entirely with vanilla textures in 2013-2014, balancing vertical gothic/neoclassic proportions without losing definition. ​The Square Layout: Designed as a monumental pedestrian forum. Every block of the pavement uses a strict geometric pattern to guide the eye toward the facade. ​Surrounding Architecture: High-density historical blocks featuring detailed arcades, galleries, and institutional buildings that frame the square, preventing any "empty background" effect. ​Urban Integration: Just blocks away from our modern transit networks (including the Jean Nouvel-inspired Minimetrò and the main avenue axes), Piazza Duomo acts as the ultimate transition zone between old-world monumentality and future infrastructure. ​Built since 2012/2017. Hi everyone! I wanted to share a new, unreleased render of a massive sector in my solo project, Heliopolis, which I’ve been building completely alone since August 2012. ​This specific shot captures what I love to call the 'Architectural Library' effect. Instead of copying and pasting the same structures, I always build by combining my creative instinct with historical research, creating an organic evolution of styles. ​Key features visible in this sector: ​The Forefront Monuments: Massive classical structures with intricate inner courtyards and tiled roofs. ​The 'Alessandro Volta' Power Station: In the mid-ground, you can see the experimental Art Déco industrial plant with its 8 monumental smoking chimneys, heavily inspired by UNESCO heritage sites like Crespi d'Adda. ​The Logistic Backbone: On the right, the grand Nun-Trasimeno(in acient times called or Trisymeonun or Trishymen-On-Nun from historicisians of Heliopolis )lake square canal (a massive 3000x3000m excavation balance from my early MCEdit days) and the multi-line rail corridors on the left. ​The Downtown Skyline: The transition into contemporary, high-density modern skyscrapers dominating the horizon. ​Fun fact / Lore: This world has never been wiped. Even the oldest, rougher builds from 2012 are preserved across the lake as part of the city's digital archaeology "Minecraft architecture Archeology". Currently, in 2026, I am working on the biggest civil infrastructure project yet: burying the central railway lines entirely underground and rebuilding the grand central station. ​The render was processed with Avoyd and edited to enhance the crisp, early-morning atmosphere. Palazzo Mantegna is part of my long-term Minecraft city project, Heliopolis (founded summer 2012 ). The structure (built circa 2015-2016)combines urban architecture with a multi-layered underground system: Neo-Renaissance Florentine palace (late 19th century inspired) administrative and historical institutional floors subterranean transition spaces (cave system and vaulted hall) preserved and restored classical era cistern chamber. The concept focuses on vertical stratification of time: each underground layer represents a different architectural period, from natural formations to medieval modifications and classical Roman Empire classical acient period engineering. Heliopolis Mega city project nasce nel 2012 , questo Palazzo Neo-rinascimentale Fiorentino ,e stato fatto penso tra il 2015-2016 , ora nel Maggio 2026 a quasi 10 anni di distanza un gigantesco restauro che lo rende 100% full interiors, il palazzo ha una sua lore , e rappresenta come istituzione la soprintendenza ai beni archeologici e paesaggistici della città stato utopica di Heliopolis , Heliopolis infatti a differenza di molte Minecraft cities conserva e restaura il suo antico più che decennale patrimonio storico architettonico e artistico , ci sono ancora builds e cartelli del 2012 , vera e propria " Archeologia di Minecraft " sopravvissuta ad Heliopolis , anche questo palazzo del 2015-2016 ora come si vede in foto valorizzato con mega restauro del Maggio 2026 ⚜️ 100% Made in Italy 🇮🇹 Pure neurodivergent creativity ♾️ 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️
