Has anyone else’s Eufy S1 wearable pump had a strong chemical/plastic smell that won’t go away?
I have the Eufy S1 wearable breast pump. When I first opened it, the silicone parts had a really strong chemical/plastic smell. I washed everything thoroughly, boiled the parts for 5 minutes, and sterilized them multiple times, but the smell never went away.
The worst part is that I feel like the smell transfers to my breast milk. My milk smells completely normal when pumped with my Spectra, but when I pump with the Eufy, the milk ends up smelling like the pump.
I contacted Eufy support, and they actually sent me an entirely brand new S1 under warranty because they thought mine might be defective. The replacement arrived today…and it has the same exact weird chemical smell after sterilizing it.
Has anyone else experienced this and did the smell eventually disappear after more washes/use?
I don’t feel comfortable giving my LO the milk from it if it smells like chemicals. I really want to make it work because I’ve heard great things about this wearable.
