My parents don't want me to graduate
(First time posting on reddit + english isn't my first language so I'm not a pro.)
I, 17F, am currently doing homeschooling, I started homeschooling in february 2025 when I was still in school, my parents let me do homeschooling fulltime this schoolyear because they saw me struggling.
Now I only have 2 exams left, math and I'm gonna redo science (chem+bio+physics in one). I'm hoping to pass both and graduate by september so I can start university in october.
My mom is a teacher but currently on leave due to mental problems and takes care of my toddler sibling. My mom is planning to start working in september half time, 2 days in the week.
My dad is a traditional man, doesn't want my toddler sibling to go to daycare but also doesn't want my aunt to care for my toddler sibling. For context; back when I was young my aunt took care of me when my mom went to work. Yes my aunt has grown a bit old but she's not THAT old and she's super healthy.
So yeah, my parents want me to watch my sibling and not start university yet when my mom starts half-time working.
Now I turned 17 this year so I have the chance to graduate a year earlier (if I pass my exams).
I don't mind watching my sibling if I don't manage to graduate, my sibling will start school february 2027, so I can start university a semester later. But I don't want to sacrifice a whole semester to watch my sibling 2 days per week.
I'm super excited about university and don't know what to do.
