Help me get an autism diagnosis, live my authentic life….after years of being misunderstood 🥰

Idk if this follows the rules on here to share gofundme me, but I am going to try. A diagnosis would really help me confidence, give me supports and accommodations for work and life 🥰 I’m high masking, but due to continuous burnouts something needs to change.

After years of trauma from family and being misunderstood by the medical system - it is time. I was recently hospitalized due to severe burnout and meltdowns, I’m estranged from most of my family. Help me continue to unmask, get a diagnosis, and live in my joy 💕

I finally accepted and loved myself, but now

I finally reached a point of truly embracing who I was. Of loving myself. After years of psych ward trips, self harm, being around abusive people. I completely deprogrammed my mind. Now life is demanding more of me (rent, housing) and I feel myself starting to dissociate more. I’m having meltdowns. I’m getting angry at myself that I can’t work more.

I don’t know what to do. I want independence and freedom from my unhealthy family more than anything, but is that even possible with autism? I love certain parts of my autism and learned to embrace them - but I want to function like a normal adult. Doing that, living on my own and thriving, would mean breaking the abusive family cycle. Yet here I am. Having meltdowns. I finally found peace…

For context : last year I was hospitalized 5 times in the psych ward.

All of the people I am close to and bond with are also autistic and unable to work full time. I met one of them in the psych ward, actually. All of them live with family or partners. After being financially abused and exploited to a very extreme degree, I really don’t want to be dependent on someone forever. The freedom is priceless …but oh wait? my disability goes lol no. You’re trapped being burnout or having to die or go back with your mentally abusive family.

Does anyone on here live a happy life?
