I need help as a beginner.

I had my second game with a friend, before i went with Eldar just for the fun of the game and i lost to orks, again in Tabletop Sim. I figured The league would be a bit more tankier but had more of a shooting army theme going for them. I lost again, due to my poor army list. I am still much of a beginner and don't know what strategems helped for the units I ran and which were held back immensely.

What I ran (Hearthfyre Arsenal):
Arkanyst Evaluator

2x Hearthkyn Warrios, Ion Blasters w/Hylas auto rifle, Magna Rail Rifle, L7 Missile Launcher, and Plasma Beamer

Cthonian Earthshakers

Einhyr Hearthguard Volkanite Disintergrator, Graviton Hammer, & Weavefield Crest

Hekaton Land Fortress (Cyclic Ion Cannon, MATR autocannon, Twin bolt cannon (2), Panspectral Scanner

IronKin Steeljacks w/Heavy Volkanite Disintergrators (3 units)

2x Kapricus Defenders w/SmokeLauncher (no hylas rotary cannon)

I was unlucky the entire match, but my strategy wasn't good either. My einhry got killed in the first turn of combat as orks killed them with ease, (due in part with the beast boss). Hunta Rigs also made my warriors into mulch. I don't think I got to use any stratagems as their description was to focused on my turn or what the steeljacks managed to do. Either way, I could use some pointers and help here

I am new to the game and need help.

I had my first game with a friend, he was playing orks with a beast warboss and I picked eldar for our very first game. I am familiar that eldar is known to be squishy and mobile, where even some units are meant to be traded for other units combat. It was an incursion game.

But I have a problem with building an army, my approach went for cool looks or being my favorite at a design point. I ran the army with guardian host.

-Autarch

-Spiritseer

-2x guardian defenders

-Rangers

-2x dark reapers

-Fire Dragons

-Wave Serpent

-War Walker

-WraithGuards

Though it was my first game, I was put on the defensive, as the map we used on tabletop was fairly small, although cover was plenty. Most of the strategems sounded confusing to me and I had no idea what met what conditions, what unit was capable of doing what was right for them. In the end, my stupidity got my army killed along with bad luck. Could anyone give me pointers in how I can improve. I also realize as a noobie I am jumping at the deep end of the pool but I like eldar the most. I am also... very bad with army building in terms of what is necessary for a game.
