ASCAP
What does it mean when "ASCAP" is printed in the sheet music? Like, why do they print that in there?

What does it mean you have 4 slash marks in a measure? Do we play anything?
This song has a lot of tempo changes. Sometimes it has a lower-case c with a period "c." and sometimes it doesn't. Anyone know what the difference is?
There's a spot that says "Haah...." with a weird diamond-shaped note. What does that mean?
And last question. There's a part that has a scale run inside a box that says "repeat pattern quickly". What are we supposed to play? Are we supposed to play a 7-top over the last 3 beats of the measure?
Running an XPR7550e, firmware R02.09.00.0001, codeplug version 14.00.13, on CPS 16.0 build 828. Everytime I flip to a Capacity Plus channel/personality, the radio almost immediately displays the red "Out Of Range" banner without giving itself enough time to find the rest channel first.
Is there a timer setting to make the radio wait longer before thinking it's out of range? I also want to make the radio bonk sooner and more frequently when it is (really) out of range, as it waits about 2 minutes before the first bonk and only bonks about once every minute after that.
Rrrreally gettin' FED UP.
So does the top part "Rem. Capacity:" 88% mean that I have 88% left remaining on the current charge? And the "Service Life:" 97% at the end means the overall battery health is still at 97%? Right or wrong? If so, I find this hard to believe, considering the battery is almost 9 years old.
I just had the radio aligned at a local radio shop and they recommend getting new batteries, but I'm debating if I really need to.
We have a networked system of linked NXDN ham repeaters with the callsign "NI4CE" https://ni4ce.org/nxdn-repeaters-on-fl-icom-gateway/ and it's a great system. It appears that the repeaters are transmitting periodic beacons as I can see the signal meter go up every 15 seconds or so with no audio. Does the AT-D890UV have roaming capability to use those beacon bursts and automatically selected the strongest repeater? I do see some roaming function settings, but can't understand how it works. The manual guides and notes in the software are either incomplete or have terrible Chinese grammar translation.
The analog squelch setting goes from 0 - 5 with 1 being the factory default. As I scan conventional analog memory channels, the radio frequently stops on the noise floor. So I bumped the squelch up to 2. Same result. Then up to 3. And 4. And now 5. It seems to make no difference, still stops on the noise floor. Only on a couple frequencies, most of 'em it doesn't do it. Is there a fix for this? I want a truly high squelch setting.
We have a local network of linked NXDN ham repeaters called "NI4CE" and everytime someone sends a message, all I get are Chinese characters instead of the original English text. Is there a fix for this? I've looked everywhere and my settings are on English.
A couple sellers are now showing the price at $999.95 and GigaParts is saying shipments start this September, 2026:
Me? I'm waiting 'till all the bugs are worked out.
Everytime I receive a voice call on DMR, the screen flips to a new screen that shows a few numbers (see photos). But I can't tell what the numbers are. I can assume CC: is the Color Code, but I can't figure what the other ones mean. I suspect one is the radio ID and the other is the TG (I wish they had a label on the screen telling us). And what does "T1" stand for?
Another question. I don't like how when there's a voice call, the channel name disappears and you can't tell what you're listening to. This is annoying when you're scanning. Is there a way to make it keep showing the channel name during voice calls?
Is there a way to modify the radio to transmit outside of the ham/amateur bands?
When I click on Tool > Radio Recording, I get an error pop-up that says:
Run-time error '339':
Component 'MSCOMCT2.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.
When you click OK, the program abruptly closes itself (which is ANNOYING). Is there a fix for this? Thanks.
I updated to firmware 1.05 and only see DMR in the programming software. How do I make it do NXDN?
