Virtual school as core, IRL school as supplement
We want to travel as a family because of my partners job for next 3 years. I want to homeschool our starting kindergartener. We found an online school we really like so we will use them because they have everything we care about like a tested kindergartener programs live teaching, extracurricular, regional meetups, school counselor. But for the times where we will live in the same location for 3 or more months, we want to also enroll our kid in a regular school provided the start and end dates line up for that term and it looks like it will for the next 2 years. In reality that looks like the fall semester is really light - just the virtual curriculum and extracurriculars. Then the
Spring term would be a regular school and the virtual curriculum and extracurriculars. Then the summer would be light virtual curriculum. What are your opinions on this? I see the benefit of having a stable curriculum for years with st and teachers but balanced with giving my kid some traditional school socialization which I think she needs. I think she can handle the schedule. I worry about what the local school district will think about her being registered for only one term.
