Suddenly dizzy every month for around 2 weeks...

Ive always been quite healthy but Ive had a few little things that I havent thought much about: Ive always gotten car sick easily, and as a child I had a few episodes of being extremely dizzy several days in a row. Ive always had headaches on and off as well, but nothing major.

Then suddenly this year, in january, I was playing a computer game where youre driving a car and the biggest wave of nausea and dizziness hit me like a fucking brick, it came out of nowhere. I had to turn the computer off and go lie on the sofa. Everything was spinning and I couldnt even look at the TV for several days. After a week or so it finally calmed down. I went to the doctor and she just said its normal to get dizzy sometimes. No tests were taken and she didnt look into it any further (I have since changed doctors..).

After that initial episode, Ive been having 1 to 2 weeks every month where Im feeling slightly off. Not as insanely dizzy like during that first episode, but a bit dizzy, lightheaded, and a sort of spaced out feeling. I often get headaches at the same time, and a weird feeling in my ears. Its not constant, in the early mornings Im often fine, then it gets worse for a while before it gradually gets better again towards the night.

This month it seems worse. Ive been on and off dizzy for two weeks now, small headaches that comes and goes every day, my neck and shoulders are stiff and my ears feel "full" (like when youre on an airplane) and while working out today I also started getting a bit of tinnitus.

My new doctor doesnt have any available appointments until end of june so Im unable to get anything checked out until then. I just stumbled upon vestibular migraines while googling my symptoms and was wondering if any of this sounds familiar to you guys. If anyone has any tips for what I should ask my doctor to specifically check out, that would also be great.

Im a 40 year old woman btw, if that matters (please dont say menopause, Im not fucking ready lol)

EDIT: Forgot to add, once a year or so for the last couple of years, right before my period, Ive gotten occular migraine with an aura (vision loss etc)

EDIT 2: Also forgot to add, dizziness runs in the family. Pretty much everyone on my mothers side of the family has or used to struggle with dizziness, migraines and tinnitus. But I dont think any of them ever have gotten a proper diagnose, just vague theories about stress, blood pressure etc

In terms of fit, my ideal boot is Altra Lone Peak. However it has two major downsides: The traction is absolute dogshit, and they are only available in my country (Norway) with a sweaty as fuck membrane. So I was wondering if theres something better out there? It doesnt have to be full on barefoot style shoes, but it has to be a boot, with a wide toebox and as close to zero drop as possible. I also need something with proper soles, preferably Vibram Megagrip, Michelin or something similar. Synthetic fabric upper preferred over leather

Im aware of trailrunners and sandals, but they dont work for the type of hiking I do. Theres a lot of sharp rocks, shrubs, roots and stuff that will scrape your foot and ankles here, and theres a lot of debris that will 100% end up inside your shoe if you dont have a high-top/boot

I did try Bedrock and Shamma sandals and even on my daily dogwalk they were borderline dangerous. Hanging by the toe straps on a sideways incline is not pleasant. Its just too steep and rocky here to be comfortable and safe in anything but boots

For rainy days I have some Topos that work ok, but its definitely a sweaty experience so for dry days I really really want something more breathable.

EDIT: I ended up ordering a pair of Altra Lone Peak 9+ and will be DIYing some gaiters for them. If the fit is anything like the boot version they should work perfectly (fingers crossed). Thank you for the suggestions!! 😄
