Replace people's surnames with "home country-hometown" string

Surnames came from aristocrats, who were often more or less known for their family lineage, while commoners used to lack surnames. "Do you know whose son I am?!" an angry young boy from a noble family might have shouted.

Now commoners have surnames too, but outside of a few rich/famous/powerful families, your surname is not very useful. In other words, we have surnames now, but they are largely non-informative.

IMHO, it would be more helpful if instead of surnames we used a "home country+home city" string. For example, a girl named Misaki, who lives in France's capital city, would be called "Misaki France-Paris". Then you wouldn't be surpised to learn that she can't speak one word of Japanese, but is fluent in French

P.S.

>Dude. My last name is the name of the tiny farm my ancestors had, hundreds of years ago. Lots and lots of people have basically this already, just not the country.

Do you still live on the farm? If no, then your surname would be updated to your current location, as otherwise it is meaningless

>So I have to change my name every time I move ... ?

Every time you change your city or country of permanent residence

>Then I suggest we all get "of" in our names. [Like] Demmy of Karlstad.

Yes, this can work too

A self-denying religion, where God commands believers to become atheists

P.S. turns out there is a God like this in Warhammer's universe called Necoho the Doubter. Guess there is nothing new under the Sun, lol

WYR migrate to country A or country B?

Country A. People here are extremely open-minded and don't hold prejudices. But they are also extremely selfish, practically a country-sized business of weasels trying to outcon each other 24/7. You can't trust anybody there

Country B. People there are very trustworthy and eager to help fellow compatriots in need. The country is also monoethnic and if you are not like them (and you aren't!), then they will look at you with suspicion, as they are quite xenophobic about foreigners and foreign-borns, holding all kinds of harmful stereotypes

P.S. >Neither sounds ideal, but for migration, I’d choose the place where I have a better chance of eventually belonging

In country A there is saying "if you want a friend, buy a dog", don't expect to make any true friends there.

In country B you can develop deeply trustful relationships with select few people, while strangers would continue to view you with suspicion and prejudice

I personally would choose Tokyo. The Moon is just a barren rock

>Are we assuming the same budget for each trip? If I had enough money for a trip to the moon, with that same amount I could have an absolute BLAST in Tokyo.

It's a gift trip in each case. If you choose Tokyo, then you will be free to roam Tokyo, but beyond that you would need to spend your own money

>The Moon. I would stuff all the suitcases and my pockets full of rocks and later cut them into smaller pieces and start an online store where you could order a REAL (TM) Moon rock from. Apparently they go for over $100 for a tiny piece, so that could make me a ton of money.

Okay, clarification: You are not allowed to bring anything from the Moon

>Am I provided a space suit on the moon? Am I provided a hotel room in Tokyo?

Yes to both

Future A. In the future, there will be a war between humans and post-humans (i.e. sentient beings superior to humans thanks to advances in genetic engineering, AI research, and related technologies — for example AGIs, cyborgs, swarm intelligences and genetically enhanced humans). Humans will lose and become extinct, while post-humans will reign suprme over the world.

Future B. Before post-humans have any chance to emerge, a global catastrophe (such as a nuclear war) will occur. Humanity will regress to feudalism and will never be able to recover because the easily accessible resources needed to build and sustain an industrial civilization will already have been depleted. Humans will survive, but live in a world of eternal feudalism.

You personally won't be affected by any of this, as events in either future will happen after you die from old age

P.S.

>Future A. Become a cyborg.

You will die before it will become possible. The question is not about you
