do you start with the hard part first or do you start anyway and figure it out later ?

am working on a game , and there is some parts on the game that am still not sure how they will work , every time i think of a way either it become complicated or wont work or it wont be like the way i want it to be

now it become a while and i have nothing done on my game , i start very few scripts then nothing , i just keep thinking of how to make the hard part and that make me do nothing

i though that i should start working on the easy part and just figure it out later , the only problem that that think that am not sure how to make is the core system of my game and it what the whole game work around it , and again i keep thinking that i should figure it out first and make it work then i should work o the rest of the game

dose anyone happen to have same issue ? what did you do ?

how to make characters in game random and rememberable at the same time ?

am working on an RPG Turn based game , my idea is to make a recruit system where the characters are random

stats , class ,race , skills , name , growth potential , look , Faction , love/hate things , etc... , are all random
they for sure wont be 100% random there is a few limits like if faction known for recruiting only mages it can't be warrior and on the same faction , another example if a character is warrior he wont have a very skinny look

am at the very start and am sure some ideas wont work and i will delete them eventually like random skills , it will be hard to pull of ,unless they are passive skills so it will be a try if it work will stay if not i will get ride of it

my idea is to make the characters random so i can make a relationship between them , character A hate B , so A refuse to heal B on battle character B get angry , etc... , was planning to make dialogue between them and realize it will be hard to manage all this and it is better to have a few sentence when things happen , eventually i want the player to care about the characters because they can and will die , same as Darkest Dungeon

Now my idea is clear , but the problem is if the player get a character and it is good because of the random skills or what he love / hate other players wont have same experience , and make me realize that when the characters are fixed the player will remember and share the characters they get not the same when the character is random , they can be replaced easily when another stronger character appear

my goal with this system is to make the game feels alive and there is too many adventurer not the same few characters they copy / past with different skin , but am not sure player will care about the characters or even remember them , someone will say others get a good character he wont aim for the same because they are all random

so if i want player to care about my characters i will need to make them fixed and this eventually make my game copy/past from Darkest Dungeon the game that partly inspired me this idea

i just want to solve this issue with my game before i go forward because every system am making is around this idea

is there a way to make static ads through Unity Ads User Acquisition ?

we are trying to adversities our game and we get an advice that we should start with statics ads rather than making full video ads so we can know what can catch the players to our games, so plan to do this , also we plan to use unity ads for that , but i couldn't find any way to use static ads only video and end card and playable ads ,

so is there a way to do it or i should look on another service to do it?
also is it a good way to start with static ads ?

i have no ads experience and this advice come from the guy that i ask to make video for our games , everything dose make sense to me but am not 100% sure if this is the corrects way

am looking to buy a new assets in the current sales , am looking for general assets that will work on any type of games or help making my life easier , what am planning to buy now is:
1- Feel , will work great with my current project
2- hot reload ,i hate the waiting and the need to stop/play the game with every line i write
3- Wingman ,make looking for object components a lot easier and faster

am planning my next game and i want to make Idle tower defense game similar to "The Tower " game , there will be 1 tower in the middle and the player need to survive

now am still on the planning phase and am planning to make the player make builds based on there taste, i want each player to think of how to survive based on how they like to play , for sure player will eventually find a way that better than anything else this happen on every game , some intended by the dev and some not , i just want the game even if you didn't make the optimal build you will still have a progress in the game , it might be slower and harder but the player can still play how they like

for now my ideas to make the player have different builds

1- Passive skills with trigger condition : skill that will increase player attack by 10% , the player will choose when will this skill be active ,like if the tower hp become less that 50% or will trigger every 30 sec , or maybe when the tower get hit

2- skills core : each skill can be equipped with skill core , each have it is own effect that will be added to the passive skills , eg : add health regen , add attack up , if the player hit the tower they get stun

3- Tower Cards : each card have passive effect , some will be active the whole game ad some will have cool down

4- skills tree : with limited point to adjust the player will need to be creative with there builds

so all my ideas are just a way to add more skills / effect so my idea that the player will be limited on all systems to be creative with there builds specially the 1st and 2nd systems

player can make a healing effect active each time he get or when he almost dead or maybe he will get attack effect to kill easier , maybe mix between both , maybe the player will heal and using skill core will summon black hole

the only problem that am not yet sure what the skills will be , am thinking to make a tons of skills and make the players creative , but am pretty sure this is not the right choice

let me know if the idea is good and let me know if there is any suggestion

hello, am game developer and am planning to make a simple tower defense game , i want to make game Similar to "The Tower " mobile game , for mainly 2 reasons :
1- i like the idea for 1 tower in middle and defend it
2- i like the tower game but it is more p2w game and the dev don't have good track record with the updates ( they will release something cost gems and they will nerf it later because it is strong )

am trying to make my game and i have the idea for the theme of the game , but am not sure what people like , so if anyone specially "The Tower " players can give me any ideas of there opinion that will be great
