How to fix this door frame ?

How to fix this door frame ?

Hey there ! This is the state of my sister's door frame (we moved into this house and the door came like this. Gotta love the landlord special !).

Her door shuts but, with the slightest touch, the door opens without having to turn the knob. You can push the door open. We have dogs and they continue to go into her room and it frustrates her so much to the point of tears :[. Is there any way of fixing this ? Even if it's shotty or doesn't look pretty, we don't care.

We attempted to put a lock plate on and it worked for a couple days... but it jammed the door, locked her out of her room, and then promptly fell off once we got the door open.

I have absolutely no idea how to go about fixing this. The most "wood working" experience I have was when I took a class in high school a couple years ago. I was thinking of filling the gap with plaster and then drilling a lock plate over it. Would that work ? I'm trying to think of cheap(er) ways of going about this.

If y'all need more pictures, let me know ! Any advice, tips, or help is so appreciated. (And if you know of any cheap power tools, please let me know ! We have none :/.) I just want to fix this for her because no one else will.

How do I ensure my partner feels supported and loved ?

New to this subreddit, hello ! :]

My partner and I are young, both 19, and have been together for almost two years this June.
Since around the beginning of our relationship, their POTS has gotten significantly worse. It saddens and frustrates them when they say no to plans or we have to change plans because of pain or fatigue.

I can't lie, it frustrates me at times too, but rarely. I completely understand and never get mad when plans change - how could I ? They can't magically change how they feel or stop the pain. What also frustrates me is the fact that there's basically nothing I can do to help. There are no over-the-counter pills I can buy for them, not a holistic approach I can introduce them too, or god forbid, "push them" through it.
I'm always reading up on POTS, the symptoms, and ways to help ease pain/discomfort.

I just fear that my partner feels unloved or unsupported. Whenever they vent to me, I'm always there to listen and offer support, I don't exclude them from plans (lest I know they're having a rough day/week, then I don't want them to feel guilty about declining), whenever the pain is bad, I offer to go out and get them literally whatever will make them happy/comfortable, and always invite them out on dates or hangouts with our friends. My love language is gift giving, and I always give gifts ! Yet, I feel like I'm not doing enough. From what has been said and observed, there's nothing wrong or any inner turmoil within our relationship.

Does anyone else have a partner that deals with POTS ? What ways do you support them other than saying "I love you" ? How can I cope with the fact that I can't fix this ? It breaks me, and I see how much it breaks them too. Any help ?
