Otis Fensom (pre-1922?) Elevator pieces from the Prince Edward Hotel (Windsor Canada)

So I have returned with another rare relic from the past for you to all enjoy.

But I do have a few inquiries about these 3 original fixtures, the Bell and name plate that I'm hoping someone can shed more knowledge on.... or as a bonus...somehow find some guru sluething archival pictures that all image searches elude me on (as I can only find the 1 black and white photo of the interior and the rest is outside views or its later modernized era ) but I'd love to find images of the original elevator area so I can showcase the pieces with actual black and white images of them in its glory (if that makes sense).

But that is not my only inquiry : What i do know is --->  these came from my great grandfather who became some sorta head hauncho of a worker till he retired at OTIS in the 80s and he was brought in to removes these and he kept the originals safe and secure till ya now see them in all their beauty today!

These original elevator pieces are from the Prince Edward Hotel built in 1922 Windsor Ontario.      Closed in 1967 and demolished in 76.

It was Named after Britain's Prince Edward, who later became King Edward VIII in 1936 following the death of King George V, --> and the hotel went on to serve as a highend hotel in the region for many MANY decades, featuring famous predominant guests as well as visited by Queen Elizabeth II in 1959.

And whilst this hotel opened in 1922 with these original otis fensom elevator items.... But.... what year was these original elevator pieces ACTUALLY created ?  This I'd love to find out ....cause if it didn't open till 1922 ...these installed items must be older than the opening itself as I'm sure they were installed during the construction period etc etc...but I can not find out any further information -->  were they new old stock or freshly created for this build itself ? Etc etc.  SO I'M HOPING THE BACKSTAMPS MAY MEAN SOMETHING TO COLLECTORS OR EVALUATORS !!! As I am at a loss and hoping for further knowledge.

-------

All items are complete with the original install hardware, wiring and original working bulbs

Note:  for todays use- they would have to be updated for today's voltage and safety standards (which im told isnt a costly restoration to repurpose these for modern use nor affe ts the value).

But help dating the original manufacturing year of thsse would be amazing as well as verifying the information i was once told about these from a antique dealers friend of mine (who i've often referenced working for and learned a lot from, that has further gone on to help many users here on reddit).

But he told me, normally the basic ones are about $750-1000ish (canadian) --> but mine are the fancy wreath ornate pieces  which are more saught after and fetch about $1350 each, as for the bell and faceplate i was not told a price - he just said he'd sell this for 5,500 in his store...and would accept a haggle price of 5 grand.

Told me if I just wanted to make a quick easy sell...list it around $4,000-4,200 and you'll move them fast (early hayday of eBay era).

I only mention this...as the world of antique values on somethings in the last decade or 2 have crumbled....but are the priceline on this still valid ???

Thanks for any and all input on these -- SERIOUSLY much appreciated.

AND ENJOY !!!! They are cool

My Favorite Coins

I do apologize, a few at the end do extend our Canadian borders - but as I predominately comment, follow and help others HERE - I figured you as collectors would also enjoy a few of my keepsakes as a shareback.

By no means are these my oldest or most expensive -- some hold sentimentality as well as luck (like my beat up wolf) --> so I'm not here sharing my valueables even if a few are mmm mmm mmm

I'm just sharing my personal treasures !!! From low mintages to oddities like the not worth much telephone coin from Israel -- but it has a John deere ripoff logo with a Fabio haircut and a rotadial phone on the otherside.

....How does one not love it !!!!

So ya, No matter if I sold everything - these stay with me forever :)

Hope ya enjoy

Created by the Fallen Soldiers uniforms from the ...Civil War? (Canada east coast)

Hello fellow Antiquers and history lovers:

Thought you'd enjoy this fascinating relic, but I am in need of some help verifying this piece and hopefully some of that magic internet sluething I've been impressed with by our little community :)

The document provided on it ---> is a wealth of info and an impressive piece of history on its own :)

... I just can't seem to fully verify anything aside from it always being called from the civil war era as it got past down thru the family.

Its dimensions are: 11.7 inches in height, with a length of 10.6 and its depth is 3 inches not including the hanging rings. The glass is hand blown - filled with a lot of seeds , a few brush strokes, and 3 divot imperfections made when flattening.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, and what you skilled appraisers may think it's worth ???

Thanks !!!

My Old Collection...inquiry

Hello Fellow Collectors:

I admittedly have been out of the scene since mid 80's or so, but I am looking to find someone who will give these (potential?) treasures the loving the deserve :)

---> WHAT WOULD BE A FAIR ASKING PRICE?? as I do not want to over charge someone on sentimental value, or lack of knowledge of today's market itself!

So any help is greatly appreciated, and whilst I realize they aren't as beautiful as the ones I see here posted all the time...I do hope atleast ya enjoyed looking thru this time capsule itself!!!

So cheers & as always - happy hunting friends :)

I am planning to move and sadly have to cull a lot of my collections.

Outside of the German fuherland 1939 carry lantern and the small farm lamp (3rd pic - one on the right), none of these have any marking and I have no clue what to even base sell any of these at

But the few decorative globes/chimneys I have are gorgeous, and wonder if best sold separately or part of the pieces ya see I've used to fill some missing aspects?

Any help or guidance will be so greatly appreciative. Thanks end enjoy :)
