It has been exactly 1 year since I started taking aim training seriously. I first started the Voltaic Season 5 benchmarks in Iron, and now today ~188 hours later, I'm Jade. Evxl profile: https://evxl.app/u/76561197986713986/Voltaic%20S5/Intermediate?tab=charts

For quick context, I do have thousands of hours experience in:

• CSGO - LEM
• Overwatch 1 - Widowmaker one trick in Masters 3.9k, like a game or two away from GM
• Valorant - Ascendant Sage instalock

Coincidentally these high ranks are achievable even with crap aim like mine used to be. Prior to last year, I had ~35 hours in aim trainers, back then when Voltaic used to be called Sparky (Sparky.gg), and Aimer7's guide used to be all the rage. Back then, aim training was in its infancy, and not nearly as well understood as it is today.

The first screenshot you see shows my original scores in Iron. Later after I hit Gold Complete, I had the bright idea to take screenshots of my profile on Voltaic.gg app (which I later then switched to Evxl.app) every time I hit a new high score. Note on hours: I use an app called ManicTime, which is an automatic time tracking software (I use it for freelance, and general tracking of my PC usage). It only tracks time when I am at my computer, and when KovaaK's is the main active window. It reports ~188 hours spent using KovaaK's, which I believe is more accurate than Steam which reported ~317 hours. That's because I spent a lot of time leaving the game running (using the bathroom, going to the kitchen, etc.) and also a lot of time spent alt-tabbed to watch YouTube videos, do VOD reviews, read Reddit, etc.

In addition to the rankup, I'd like to share all my aim training notes that I've taken. I believe that one of the things that makes the aim training community great is that we're all here to help each other improve, and I encourage others to do the same when they post their own rankup stories. The rankup posts I've learned the most from are the ones that share what worked and what didn't work, as well as their own advice on how they tackled challenging scenarios.

SmoothBot Invincible Goated is such a poorly designed scenario full of RNG. Getting a decent score is highly dependent on how many times the bot decides to jump over your head. Sometimes the bot even just flies directly above your head and then sits there for a whole second, just pooping all over your score.

I'm already Master Complete on Precise Tracking in Voltaic S5, so theoretically this scenario should be a piece of cake, since it's basically just a 360° version of Snake Track. Instead I have to keep grinding it until the bot gives me a run where it stays in mostly viable positions.

edit: the RNG gods finally blessed me with a viable run and today I just passed the 4000 score to get Seal Complete.
