Do you aimers and abover averagers just grind the benchmarks or do you train specific scenarios to get better at them?
recently been doing voltaic series and notices my weak tribute. dynamic clicking. im bronze on dynamic clicking yet i can almost reach platinum on tracking, what am i doing wrong? https://medal.tv/games/kovaak/clips/mKsJNzGjmS7Zfw08X?invite=cr-MSw4czgsNDE5ODA3Njk4
I see this sub and it’s a lot of post of colorful lines and talking about what they’ve achieved. What playlist(s) am I supposed to be playing for this ranked kovaaks experience?
It has been exactly 1 year since I started taking aim training seriously. I first started the Voltaic Season 5 benchmarks in Iron, and now today ~188 hours later, I'm Jade. Evxl profile: https://evxl.app/u/76561197986713986/Voltaic%20S5/Intermediate?tab=charts
For quick context, I do have thousands of hours experience in:
Coincidentally these high ranks are achievable even with crap aim like mine used to be. Prior to last year, I had ~35 hours in aim trainers, back then when Voltaic used to be called Sparky (Sparky.gg), and Aimer7's guide used to be all the rage. Back then, aim training was in its infancy, and not nearly as well understood as it is today.
The first screenshot you see shows my original scores in Iron. Later after I hit Gold Complete, I had the bright idea to take screenshots of my profile on Voltaic.gg app (which I later then switched to Evxl.app) every time I hit a new high score. This allowed me to make a nice little progression video: https://youtu.be/ONYAeo3KIes?si=GK-AR8K-VWm3w4LR
tl;dr progression:
| Date | Hours (Cumulative) | +Hours | Rank |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2025-05-20 | 36.42 hours | Iron | |
| 2025-06-20 | 42.07 hours | 5.65 | Gold |
| 2025-08-12 | 43.21 hours | 1.14 | Gold Complete |
| 2025-08-28 | 67.74 hours | 24.53 | Platinum |
| 2025-09-26 | 93.77 hours | 26.03 | Platinum Complete |
| 2025-10-08 | 112.60 hours | 18.83 | Diamond |
| 2026-04-14 | 187.97 hours | 75.37 | Jade |
Note on hours: I use an app called ManicTime, which is an automatic time tracking software (I use it for freelance, and general tracking of my PC usage). It only tracks time when I am at my computer, and when KovaaK's is the main active window. It reports ~188 hours spent using KovaaK's, which I believe is more accurate than Steam which reported ~317 hours. That's because I spent a lot of time leaving the game running (using the bathroom, going to the kitchen, etc.) and also a lot of time spent alt-tabbed to watch YouTube videos, do VOD reviews, read Reddit, etc.
In addition to the rankup, I'd like to share all my aim training notes that I've taken. I believe that one of the things that makes the aim training community great is that we're all here to help each other improve, and I encourage others to do the same when they post their own rankup stories. The rankup posts I've learned the most from are the ones that share what worked and what didn't work, as well as their own advice on how they tackled challenging scenarios.

Hello All, I am currently around lvl 10 on Faceit and 27k Premier rating in cs2. My Leetify aim rating is 83. However, I am not sure which scenarios would be a good fit for me to practice around my skill range. This week earlier I started doing voltaic intermediate s5 but I've seen people recommend to do Viscose instead and that Viscose has better translation into games. Thank you beforehand!
Hello, I was just wondering if anyone here knew any helpful playlists or specific scenarios that will help me push master, thanks.
Can someone who has put in a lot of time into fps-training or aim-training post a 30 minute video of him playing cs? I just wanna see what it looks like if someone who never or nearly never played cs, plays cs.
i play apex legends for years. my rank is masters for seasons and i don't grind for pred because i have other things in life, but for years i am struggling with being consistent with my aim. one day i feel like i'm a god and i'm holding my mouse in a same grip i always do but it felt like everything just clicks and makes sense. another day i'm having a pretty weird aim and bad day, eventhough i'm gripping my mouse the same, it somehow feels weird/awkward and feels different. i dont know. it has been an up and down journey for me. anyone feeling the same? do spare some tips or advice thank you
I am trying two different mouse right now, the Logitech g pro superlight 1 and the superlight 2c. The first 3 photos are of the Logitech superlight 1 and the next 3 are the superlight 2c. I want to know if that’s a good grip to try and familiarize myself with or if there’s changes I could make, along with what mouse would be better for me. My hand size is 17.78x8.89 cm.
My friends and I were talking about benchmark ranks.
Im jade complete working my way to Master rank on VT benchmarks - my friend is Master II in Aimlabs and we wanted to know how comparable these are?
Is there a difference in difficulty? Since we both have our own experiences on separate benchmarks we didn’t really know so that’s the post
Hey everyone,
I mainly play Valorant and want to get more into the aim community / aim training side of things. I’ve been using the Logitech G Pro X Superlight for years, so that shape is basically all I really know.
I currently have a Maya X on the way, but I’m looking for more options to explore and test to figure out what actually feels best for me.
Hand size:
17–17.5cm length
Grip:
Relaxed palm / relaxed fingertip maybe?
Honestly not 100% sure yet
I’d appreciate recommendations for:
Shapes worth trying
Mice good for Valorant/tac FPS
Anything that might suit smaller hands with my grip style
Open to all suggestions. Thanks!
Yo guys, spent the last few weeks digging into some data and sports science concepts regarding how we actually build mechanical skill. I noticed a lot of players (including myself) treat aim trainers like a daily quiz just grinding leaderboard scenarios for hours, hunting for a high score, and wondering why it doesn't translate to tactical shooters. Realized that shifting the focus entirely away from high score hunting and onto specific data driven Voltaic routines completely changes how muscle control is built. I put together a full analytical video breakdown tracking this concept, showcasing the exact routine shifts, and how to actually break out of that plateau. If you're stuck in an aim training rut, hopefully this helps give some perspective. Let me know what your current routine looks like or if you think the benchmarking system is being used wrong!
2nd MASTER score in VT S5 Controlsphere!!!! so happy!!! something switched i guess
Trying to play on low sens so I can be more accurate. I don’t get how to do the swipe thing.
Am I supposed to lift up my mouse and swipe to go back to the center instead of just moving my mouse all the way to the right or left? There’s not really a tutorial or advice when I looked so I just been kinda stuck
I recently picked up a speed pad from Steel series. Ordered a cheap sleeve from Amazon and tbh I got what I paid for. On thin tracking scenarios I find myself getting caught on my pad often and have trouble keeping a consistent speed. Any recommendations for some really good sleeves? Ty
I have ganglion cyst on my wrist and if i place my wrist on the table it hurts, so what i do is, i place my hand at the edge of the table and i place my arm on the armrest, so my wrist is on the air. Playing like this i have no pain, but i need to play on high sens, ranging from 13cm/360 to 7cm/360. If i try to play on a slower sens, i start having pain after a while since i need to move my wrist a lot( Ive tried 16, 20, 30, 40). And this is all good tho, i for some reason have higher scores on some scenarios with 13cm than with slower sens, and in some scenarios with 7cm.
My issue is vertical movements, i have installed rawaccel with 1.80 x/y ratio, but idk if having that is bad for my aim in the long run. But honestly idk what other solution to go with. I have also tried playing on a slower sens and having on raw accel with mode jump for bigger movements but i still endup having pain. I have tried playing on donk's grip, but i endup having my whole arm exhausted and hurting a bit (i have only played for a couple of days)
I play fingertip on a glasspad with a moded viper v3 pro (cut in half). I am happy with my setup but idk if my setup is part of the problem or not
Does anyone have a similar issue? Or do you guys have any suggestions. I am down to try everything as long as i can play comfortably without pain
PS. I have higher scores on higher sens but tracking is all jittery, should i just play more or should i change something?
Ive been using rawaccel for around 3 yearish and i decided to look at peoples opinions and stuff on it and i found that apparently accel users have worse mouse control (whatever that is). how important is mouse control and also how does one improve it
also i know this isnt apart of the main point of this post but is there any other things i can do while playing a fps game that improves my aim over time
Basically the title. I'm GM on 4/6 tracking tasks, and the ones I'm not it's only 50-100 poins away. Rn I play ALL the trackingtasks in viscose(hard),using Mattys threshold method which ends up being about 2-5 runs of each scenario. I then play the bechmark scenarios, same method except the one I'm trying to rank up on which I might play up to 10 times. This routine takes A LOT of time, and while I don't mind the time spent I am starting to question the effectivness of said routine. What I notice is my consistency is quite good and most runs I'm not too far from my PB -but new PB's feel pretty rare and "random". So yeah, any advice?
