What is the consensus best way to train tac-shooters?

My main game is CS2.

It seems like a lot of scenarios do not train tac shooters well.

The situation I struggle with is when someone swings a corner and I need to click on a head that is moving laterally as fast as possible from my original crosshair placement.

It is common that someone just falls into my crosshair placement but most of the time this is not the case and I need to adjust as fast as possible.

What are the best scenarios that train this small, instant micro-adjustment?

Taking my time and clicking in something like 1 wall 10 targets seems useless because I rarely have that much time and the are static targets.

If you could recommend one book to take me from ignorance to Awakening, what would it be?

One single book. Something that says everything that needs to be said. Something that shows the plain and simple path to Awakening.

Edit for some background on me:

  • I have meditated about 2k hours, but I still consider myself a beginner.

  • I subscribe to Ingram's model of Awakening ie. 'this is it'.

  • I am open to any system, although Christianity is difficult for me because I struggle with belief in God. Still open to Christian practices though.

  • I want a single book because I want the teachings distilled down to one system of practice. I want something I can grab onto and say this will be my path.

  • If it contains both theory and practice that would be ideal.

Edit 2: Thanks all for your suggestions. You gave me a lot to look at. I am grateful for your help.

How do I learn difficult words in Russian as a beginner?

This is the first language I'm trying to learn. I have been running into issues with vocabulary. I will give an example:

"так" means many different things based on how it is used. Trying to go "front:так" "back:translation" for my flashcards doesn't really work.

I have heard it is best to learn these strange words in context so I learn all it's forms such as "so, like this/that, in this way" but I'm not sure how to Ankify such cards, especially since I am not at the level where I can reliably translate sentences due to grammar and vocab deficiencies.

Should I just focus on more clear cut words like космонавт?

How would you make cards for words like tak. Sorry I need my hand held through this lol.

Maybe something like making multiple cards for each use like:

  • Делай так -> translation

  • Почему ты так думаешь -> translation

Any help is appreciated.

Dream tracing

This is the method I've been using to increase dream recall: whenever I wake up I try to trace through my dreams recalling as much detail as I can using only my mind.

I'm not sure if I should switch to traditional dream journaling. It feels like writing things down causes me to expound on the dream more than doing it purely in my mind allows me to.

Has anyone had success with the method I outlined above?

It is much more minimalist - I am not reliant on a laptop, my phone, or a notebook. Also I don't need to get up in order to dream journal. It is good for busy mornings where I don't have time to write. The downside is that it is harder to do effectively although I'm not sure.

I am remembering one dream a night using this method. My goal is 2-3.

What do you think?

How do you get past the 80wpm plateau.

What is the most efficient training method to break through the 80wpm plateau? For some reason I simply can't do it.

Should I do 10ff, or some other website/program?

Should I focus on only frequent words? Bigrams?

How did you personally do it?

How do you improve at mid level?

Hello, I am a Gold 2 fox. Maybe "mid level" is too generous for me but I mean the range between mastering tech skill all the way to being pre-top 100 level.

I was wondering what improvement methods / modalities would be best at my level of play?

My techskill needs refinement so I am working on that. I'm just wondering how you guys improve beyond just grinding techskill and friendlies / ranked.

Is it just a matter of refining different situations or finding an answer for different options? Or is there something else I'm missig?

Thank you for your help!

Switching from scrolling to reading

I want to switch from scrolling / music to reading as my default. But it's really hard. Every time I try to do this it's like I'm holding my breath.

Can someone give me advice for how to achieve this goal?

What is the point of lower volatility?

So as I understand it a HCB of 25-30% lowers volatility by about 5%. But why does this matter if we are holding for the long term? Why not ignore the lower volatility benefits and decrease idiosyncratic risk instead? Ignoring all other HCB factors.

Thank you for your help.

Trying to sort out home-country bias, Re Vanguard/CIBC writeups.

It seems like a lot of people just defer to the employees at Blackrock or Vanguard for their HCB which is understandable, but I want to know for certain how these magic figures like 30% come to be.

Currency risk seems like a legitimate reason to invest domestically, but I don't like some of the other reasoning like hedging against WW3 happending or some other conflict. How do you even pull a figure from that? I don't want my HC allocation to be influenced by something like this.

I also don't want the figure to be influenced by Canadian's preferences. They say in the Vanguard paper:

> "While a fully market proportional equity portfolio may be impractical or unpreferable for most Canadian investors, maintaining a set allocation represents a reasonable trade-off between diversification and investor preferences."

Dividends are another consideration but why does this matter if I'm in a registered account and would the DTC even move the needle enough in a non-registered account considering all the other downsides? Vanguard writes:

> "For investors who have a lower level of current income needs, and more focused on total returns, a lower than 30% allocation to Canadian equities may be preferable. This is due to the fact that a higher portion of the total return would be from capital gains, assuming equal future expected rate of returns, which is taxed more favourably than Canadian dividends. We should also note that clients can create their own homemade dividend by simply selling securities and incurring capital gains. This approach could add a layer of complexity and also increase transaction costs."

Vanguard says that going 30% reduces the portfolio volatility by 5%, but why does this matter if I'm going to be holding it for 30 years? I don't care about volatility. Am I misunderstanding what volatility means in this context?

I don't want my portfolio to underperform if Canada shits the bed over the next 30 years.

Plus I don't even know if I will be retiring in Canada so the whole thing might just be a waste of time.

How do I approach learning vocabulary?

So I just started learning Russian.

One question that has been on my mind is how to approach the vocabulary, specifically since there are so many word forms.

Do I need to memorize all the cases for each word, or is there a shortcut I am missing?

Also if I need to memorize the M/F/N for each word?

Thank you for your help.

Is it possible to use Kratom safely?

Hello, I am looking to get back on Kratom.

I used it for about a month 3 times a week but stopped it shortly after.

I got kinda clowned on on other subs for suggesting that I wanted to take it regularly.

My plan is to take it once a month at a relatively high dose. Basically the sweet spot before I feel like vomiting.

My question is this: will the addiction creep into my life slowly or am I good at just once a month?

I would love to hear from more experienced users than myself.

Deciding to relapse.

I've lived on this earth 27 years. I can't remember a time I've felt positive emotion. It is either neutral or bad. Maybe in childhood I felt something positive but I'm just guessing.

After sitting on the couch and feeling nothing but a subtle feeling of anguish today I realized I was done. I need to go back to kratom. Kratom has been the only respite I've found. Literally earth shattering drug for me. I can't just leave it behind.

My plan is to take it biweekly. If I break this plan AT ALL I'm fucking throwing it all in the garbage and never looking back.

Is it okay to use a LoC as my emergency fund?

Basically title. I don't want to keep money out of the market and have it eroded by inflation for an emergency that may or may not come.

What are the downsides to doing it this way? I have two LoCs.

Thanks.

What is the point of diversifying to the extent XEQT or VT does?

The reddit consensus is that XEQT is better than VFV due to diversifying across different countries. But what is really the point of diversifying across so many stocks when you're already at 500 stocks?

The way I see it the benefits of diversification is logarithmic, where you see great benefit from diversifing between two stocks rather than one, but slowly the benefit decreases to where the difference between 500 vs 6000 stocks is minimal.

VFV might outperform. It might be XEQT. Nobody knows. So why not just flip a coin? Why is XEQT the go-to? Ignoring the benefits of home-country bias.

Bipolar and psychosis I simply can't sleep.

Context: I have bipolar disorder / psychosis and am medicated with lithium abilify and quetiapine. I don't drink caffeine before bed although I smoke very much nicotine.

Despite my medications I literally can't sleep normally. Most weeks I miss 1-2 nights of sleep and on the nights I do sleep it takes 4-5 hours to fall asleep if I were to literally just lay there with the lights off. In practice I get fed up and go on my computer until I am impossibly tired before trying.

My doctor increased my quetiapine adding immediate release but there has been no change. I haven't even noticed anything.

What do I do

Why are you NOT switching to CAGE?

Since this is an XEQT sub I'm mainly asking why you are not investing in CAGE, but if you are deciding to make the switch I would also like to hear from you.

As it stands I'm deciding not to for the following reasons. (feel free to argue with me):

  • Higher MER. Although negligible considering the investment strategy difference I'm still counting on it beating the extra MER.

  • With CAGE I am extrapolating past performance out into the future.

  • There is always a difference between academically determining something is a better investment and what happens in practice.

  • I want humans to have as little to do with my investment as possibble, even if it's just following an algorithm. I want my portfolio to be cold, mechanical, and simple.

  • I simply don't understand CAGE (lol). I don't want to invest in something that requires more study than I have done.

  • I don't understand how these high-value companies they are investing in will continue to exist into the future if markets tend towards efficiency. If everybody starts factor investing over the next 30 years then how could they continue to exist? I don't understand.

  • AFAIK the factor premium takes effect in cycles. I don't want to underperform for 10+ years especially if I need to sell of shares for whatever reason.

Do any of you actually understand CAGE?

Hello, I am a clueless XEQT investor. I can write out an okay-ish essay on XEQT but CAGE I am completely clueless.

The monke in me is saying to sell everything and dump it in CAGE because the smart finance men said it was good. I am not sure this is the best investment strategy for my retirement.

So I ask: if there are any smart science men reading this what is your conclusion? I am going to do my own research (no im not) but until then I would like to hear where you landed.
