It is just an origami book

In early 2023, the first draft of Origami Mastery consisted of 52 works. After a few edits and references, my final decision was 61 works. The original book had 412 pages, with 7 chapters and cost $34 for pdf version and 52$ for the printed book.

Do you see what these numbers have in common?

I name every colors of Origami paper I made. This one is Nesus.

I use Arylic liquid color, ratio with water is 1 color + 2 water, when the pulp is left to dried about 70%, I crumpled the sheet and spray the above golden solution onto it, let is splattered freely. Then let it dried completely to iron it at high temperature. This version I also glued a black sheet of tissue paper behind it for the color changing affect which is requires by my customer 😀.

Mixed gold arylic color in the paper pulp and this is what you will get.

This is golden Tapa paper, a new version of poplar bark paper in my store.

This is mainly used in Origami, what else purposes can this be applied? I need to find a society to share my paper into. Thank you so very much 🤗.

My Origami Mastery Book had had the third edition printed.

This is my 2 kg origami book, entirely designed and written by me.

It is probably the heaviest origami book and one of the most advanced collections of origami models available today.

My goal was simple: to create a complete learning guide that helps folders progress from the easiest folds to the most challenging masterpieces. That's why the book includes 7 technique chapters, teaches more than 10 essential skills, and features 61 models arranged from beginner to expert level. The easiest model takes just 2 steps, while the hardest requires over 300 steps and more than 900 repeated folds.

The book represents more than 3 years of work, around 1,000 hours of diagram drawing, and hundreds of hours of test folding. I know there's still room for improvement, and diagrams in the book are drawn in different period of time and experience so I truly appreciate every piece of feedback.

The book is now in its 3rd edition. You can order it here:

I designed a Manta Ray from an uncut square of paper.

I designed this Manta Ray after watching Planet Earth TV series. These great giants glide effortlessly through the ocean, inspiring me to capture their movement in a single sheet of paper.

With its wide wings and smooth curves, this model reflects the serenity of one of the sea's most fascinating creatures to me 😊.

Liger, an offspring between a lion and a tiger.

I did not use the name Tigon, which is more accurate, because in Vietnamese, tigon means a kind of flower, not such a fantastic beast.

Origami Hippopotamus – From a Single Sheet

I'd like to share one of my recent projects: an Origami Hippopotamus that I documented as a complete step-by-step instruction guide.

If you want to fold it, comment here

Origami Hippopotamus , with instruction diagram.

I'd like to share one of my recent projects: an Origami Hippopotamus that I documented as a complete step-by-step instruction guide.

The model is folded from a single sheet of Papyrus B2, a handmade paper that I make myself. Before folding, I treat the paper with acrylic medium and glue to improve its strength and durability while keeping it flexible enough for complex folds. Once the paper is ready, I cut it into a perfect square and begin folding.

If you'd like to see the complete instruction guide, you can find it here:

I made an Origami Hippopotamus and shoot a photo instruction for you to fold it with me 😊

The most challenging part wasn't actually designing or folding the model—it was creating the instructions.

For every fold, I had to stop, think about the clearest camera angle, take a photo, and then continue. Sometimes I repeated sections several times just to capture an image that would be easier for someone else to understand. My goal was to create instructions that anyone could follow, even if they weren't familiar with traditional origami diagrams.

I believe a good tutorial is more than just showing the folding sequence. It should help people enjoy the process without feeling lost or overwhelmed. Finding the right balance between accuracy, clarity, and visual appeal took many hours of work.

Is there still interest in photo-diagrams these days?

I got permission from Lam Nhat Phat to publish his free photo-diagram of his Smaug on my website.

With so many video tutorials and crease patterns available today, I'm curious—do people still enjoy folding from photo-diagrams?

Model in the pictures are folded by Le Huynh Duc, Nguyen Cong Son and Nguyen Dinh Dung

Sorry that the first image I editted using Gemini for the background, I lost this model in an origami convention long time ago so I have no available model to shoot another image 😭
