I’m not a Naoya glazer typically, but hear me out.

Not only did he take a lunch from someone as strong as Toji and live, he also did it with his momentum getting stopped. Think of it, he was running directly towards Maki, and THEN she punches him. So not only was he hit by the force of Maki’s punch, but his own speed worked against him.

“It’s not the fall that kills you at the end, it’s the sudden stop.”

Same principle applies if you are running, in both situations it’s momentum. And Naoya was able to live through this hit. You gotta give him props for that.

I really liked most of volume 9. The ever after was super interesting, both Neo and Curious cat were great antagonists, and I didn’t mind Ruby’s character arc realizing that she just had to be herself and accept that she doesn’t have to win every time.

Overall, I don’t understand the hate for vol 9.

That being said, Bumblebee was bad. I skipped through the confession scene with the quickness because it was so cringy. That’s how I felt with Bumblebee for the most part. It just is poorly written and set up, which makes for cringy moments.

I might make a dedicated Bumblebee post on how I feel about it as a whole, but my main gripe is that Blake and Yang have such a boring dynamic. Definitely the least interesting possible ship they could’ve gone with for each respective character.
