We could be wrong but we discovered a terrible truth about the Faunus

We could be wrong but we discovered a terrible truth about the Faunus

A friend and I were talking about the Faunus and went on to talk about how we were both unhappy with the fact that they only have one animal trait. We came to the realization, looking at different Faunus, that it is truly a genetic lottery, and there would be a decent possibility for someone to be born with a trait that is completely debilitating. This could range from minor things to having horse hoves for hands to something pure nightmare fuel, where one's skin could be replaced with that of a jellyfish or be born with hollow bones. What is the absolutely worst trait someone could be born with?

How would you write mistral?

Northern Mistral

-based more on norse mythology and split into 9 main states or cities

-the hunters in this area are based on heroes and gods from northern myths the most prominent huntsman during the great war was the faunus Beowolf Who had defended mistral from Grimm attacks sent by a beast he had named Grendel

-has a culture that has similarities to old mantle due to previously being a colony state that declared independence once they started there anti emotion campain

-deals with more animalistic grimm that mostly have no intelligence with the rare exceptions of a few alpha variants that attack with the most notable in recent years is a ginormous snake like grimm known as jormungandr who was held back at the cost of two huntsman named Siegfried and Brunhild

-has the most disorganized military as there built up with mercenary groups some of which don't use aura yet manage to defeat hordes of grimm

Eastern Mistral

-has a mix of Japanese and Chinese culture and design with the colder regions being more based on Japan while the warmer regions based on china

-has had dozens of different councils ever since it was made mostly due to backstabbing and coups not to mention the branwen tribe had once attempted to take over the whole of eastern mistral under the command of Hun back when the branwen tribe was at there strongest

-has more spiritual connections and better understanding of aura where they train to use aura techniques to show better uses for it

-has a few sects of villages who focus on living a more peaceful lifestyle with little conflict and rarely attract grimm

-has the most organized army between the 3 states with focus on horseback riders and archers

-is where haven academy is built

-home of the founders of the Mistralean Trading company

-took over most of mistral with the help of mantle before the great war

Western Mistral

-has Greek and Roman inspired culture with government similar to that of vale that was founded by a king with white hair and emerald eyes

-has some of the most intellectual members of mistral where most of there arts sciences and knowledge is has flourished and the most powerful of the other 2

-had been the most affected during the great war and currently trying to oppose atlesian occupation

-has been in a power struggle with eastern mistral that hasn't been helped with the found of haven academy

Government

-is split between a council of twelve with 4 members from each states

-from western mistral :Triton Vasilias, Mars Ultor, Hestia Nikos

-from Eastern Mistral: Leonardo Lionheart, and 2 I haven't named yet

-from Northern Mistral: unnamed

Extra lore

-had lost southern mistral during the faunus revolution as restitution with many seeing it as a stain on Mistralean history

-has the most production of adept aura users out of all kingdoms

-third most organized army from the 4 kingdoms just above the Vacuo but beneath Vale

What are your thoughts on this

Why the hate on Raven Branwren?

I've been wondering this for a while, and I don't think it's ever elaborated on at all.

Yang wasn't angry at Raven prior to meeting her and wad more curious as to why she left. Tai isn't upset about mentioning her, and Qrow is more unsure about his sister than flat out disliking her. So why the sudden shift in attitude?

I hope this gets developed in volume 10 when it comes out, because frankly I'm puzzled.

Earth Dust

Can someone please explain to me exactly how Earth Dust works in the RWBY universe? I hear it get mentioned in fan-based works more often than in the actual show, so I don't fully know what its effects can do. Can anyone in the FNDM give me all the details?

Like for example, can Earth Dust be infused into your weapons haft/shaft (like for a spear or polearm) to make it basically unbreakable?

As always, please be respectful when posting your replies.

if we were to make an oc where in a verse where bb never became canon the reconciliation via thunderstorm in v9 still happens but more of a like a sister ) and he would be yangs love interest ( in a way where you can compare it to blacksun) how would you do it

I mean like yang is the extrovert and oc is in blakes spot ( maybe the oc ends up being helped and supported by yang who regrets not being able to do anything for blakes issues )

rwby tends to have contrasting pairs

>Sun & Yang commonalities: extroverted personalities, theme of light, lifestyles seem to have been positive in some way, and eastern names

>Sun & Blake commonalities: raised from societal influences (Blake having seen discrimination against her kind, Sun appearing to have never witnessed it until working with her), eastern weapon theme, and both are faunus

and sun is light to blakes shadow

yang is fire

Tha really does feel like such an odd move for the narrative. The whole point of Ironwood’s plan was slowly integrate the populace for Salem and get all organized to minimize the panic worldwide . But Ruby drops it like nothing and now everyone’s all in harmony in like months after ?

I mean you’d think the people who easily got fucked up by Cinder’s speech in Beacon’s Fall who sneed evidence to reassure them this is all true, especially after the whole Two Dead Cities. Frankly I kinda wondered how Ironwood was going to convince people anyways that an immortal witch was out there vuven his word was not what it used to be

Historically seems like Vacuo would have alot of problems vuven the whole history of military occupation, and I can’t imagine Shade being able to police an entire kingdom even with whatever remains of the Atlas military (as to my understanding the novels reveal Vacuo has like zero Dist so how is this shit powered)

Just feels like they wanna rush to the United we stand /final stand thing to wrap everytvung up wjgh a bow about unity and heart and what have you

RWBY OC Basis: Lu Bu

Fun fact about me: I am a HUGE fan of the band Sabaton. And recently, I have become addicted to their recent song, "A Tiger Among Dragons", which is based on the life of legendary Chinese warrior Lu Bu.

My addiction to this song, coupled with my plan to give Yang Xiao Long Lu Bu's weapon (the Fangtian Huaji) in addition to Ember Celica in my planned RWBY rewrite, has made me realize a question I should have asked the FNDM a LONG time ago.

That question is this: Who here in the RWBY FNDM has created an OC that is based on/inspired by Lu Bu? If you have created such an OC, then I want to hear all the details about them. Their backstory, their personality, their appearance, their weapon(s) and fighting style(s), their Semblance, the whole shebang.

As always, please be respectful when posting your replies.

How should RWBY’s power progression been handled?

This tweet made the rounds of RWBY twitter, and it got me thinking how RWBY’s power progression should have been handled. Maybe they should have been weaker and gradually risen to their Poser era feats instead if CRWBY were that afraid of power creep

Anyone find pyrrahs reasoning for liking Jaune weird?

I mean I’m somewhat based cause even though jaunes my favorite character I never liked him and Pyrrha being together cause it was to generic.

But after seeing another post her just liking him cause he treated her normally. Like it wasn’t him being nice or anything hell he was being dismissive of her cause he legit didn’t know who she was.

So what if someone like ren or ruby did the same?

Would the champion fall for them to?

Granted this ship is possibly the most decently built in the show, besides how basic it is along with the fact that one of the captains is dead……

When they have such little screen time you start to notice the small things, like how often this soundbite gets used, lol

What if Lie Ren’s weapon was like the Absolute Green Arrow’s? A pair of swords that can be combined into a bow?

I know Cinder’s bow Midnight already matches that description, but it always seemed like an odd choice of weapon for her and she never used it again after Volume 5 anyway. As for how to incorporate Dust, maybe just create Dust-tipped arrowheads or coat the blades of the swords in Dust?

Am i being too mean to Ruby

I'm writing an Au fanfic were i cant decide if I want it to be one that takes place with everyone as adults living their lives or one were Future Ruby gets sent to the start of the show or close. but that's of topic the reason I'm asking if I'm mean if not told by the picture is that I wanted Ruby angst and what could I add to the story that would Cause Ruby immense pain and is unique. Immortality, It such a simple thing but to someone like Ruby is like the Utmost form of torture that I'm questioning if its to far.

Ruby Immortality works different than Ozpin and Salem's. Ozpin reincarnates, Salem's is sorta like a hyper regenerative immortality she's stuck at the same age an if she takes damage its healed. Ruby immortality stems from her eyes, them being from the god of light contain this sorta of divine essence that when a silvered eye warriors refines ever so slowly slows down their aging until it just stops and only stops working once they are damaged, the only reason Ozpin and nobody else that knows about Silvered eye knew this is because of Salem hunting them to the point if you had Silvered eyes your life expectancy was sorter than and average huntsman.

I Now Proceed To Fight You All To The Death

Neo is the most overrated character in RWBY history. She has nothing to her character outside of Roman and has no personality other than being Anime Girl Tyrian. Her being mute is not an excuse for this because there have been plenty of mute/quiet/unintelligible characters in fiction that expressed more personality than she ever did. It’s hard to even classify her as actual rep as the only reason she was made mute in the first place is because her planned voice actor couldn’t make it on time and Rooster Teeth decided to pander to FNDM headcanons. Her backstory could’ve been genuinely meaningful commentary on the struggles and horrific abuse disabled and neurodivergent children have been forced to endure throughout history but Rooster Teeth did basically nothing with it because they refuse to engage with societal issues beyond a surface level. The only reason she even got popular in the first place is because people thought she was cute and/or wanted to goon to her.
