What Behaviors Do You Experience In BPD Clientele?

So, I’m still in the newer stages of learning about the practical treatment of personality disorders and was wondering why some therapists call a Borderline diagnosis the “fatal” diagnosis. My questions:

  1. Why fatal? Is the BL client so hard to treat, and why or why not?

  2. How do you keep yourself healthy during the therapy session?

  3. Do you have a mentor or therapist that‘s written on the topic?

  4. How long have you been in the profession?

I recently retired after a 42 year career. I’ve always worked in some capacity since I delivered morning and evening paper at the aged of 11. Post-retirement and celebrations, it’s a new life and world. I travel, invest, smoke cigars and ride motorcycles. Now I need a new purpose. AMA
