Does removing your Flying Blue number at check-in “reset” the OLCI upgrade price?

I’m in the check-in window right now on IAD–AMS, and the offer to upgrade from Y+ to J is showing €1400. There are still 5 seats open in J and 5 in Y+, so the cabin isn’t scarce.
We all know these upgrade quotes are shaped by your personal data and history, so I’m not asking about that. My question is: has anyone tried deleting/decoupling their FB number from the booking during check-in to see if it wipes that memory and returns a different price?
Has anyone actually tested this? Did the number move, or does the personalization stay tied to the ticket regardless?

Do connecting passengers get an upgrade advantage over those flying only the intercontinental segment?

I usually book and check in only for the intercontinental flight itself, so I'm stuck waiting for the standard 30-hour (24-hour for US) check-in window to open before I can see any upgrade offers.
But people with a connecting flight before that same intercontinental segment can check in for their whole itinerary as soon as check-in opens for their first flight — which could be many hours (or even a day) earlier than my own check-in window opens.
Does that mean connecting passengers get to see (and grab) upgrade availability before someone like me who's only flying that one long-haul segment? Or is upgrade inventory released at a fixed time regardless of when you check in?
