5th Gen iPod Stuck on white screen

5th Gen iPod Stuck on white screen

Some context:

  • Menu + Center causes it to go black and then eventually back to white.
  • If I do the play/center reset thing the screen goes black, then returns to a dim white/grey screen.
  • No Apple logo ever appears.
  • The Click Wheel's electronic feedback initially worked, but now doesn't.
  • My Mac's System Information sees the iPod as an Apple USB device.
  • The finder on my mac does not mount/show the iPod.
  • It's been charging for 6 hrs.

This is my old ipod that's been sitting in a desk at my parents so I wanted to see if I could use it but obviously it's not working and I'm not sure if it's the hard drive, the screen, the logic board, battery etc etc. Anyone have any ideas?

Options for tiny sheet music?

I need to play this for an outdoor concert next week, it was handed out a week ago so the band hasn't practiced it together before the performance so that already adds a layer of complexity but it's also so small I can't see it well enough on my stand. I've tried using some free tools to scan an image in and transcribe it but I'm not really getting anywhere. I've used muse score to create sheet music from scratch which I could do here and just compare but it would take some time. I tried their free importer but it's not working. Any suggestions? I don't think just simply blowing it up and printing bigger is the answer because I think I'd just end up with 4 pages all taped together and that sounds like a mess to deal with.

Finally Received a Job Offer!

I thought I'd share this because when I've seen other posts like this, they really helped keep me going because it can feel like there is no hope.

It took me 3 months (I have 12 years experience). These are the numbers of how many resumes I sent and interviews I had:

110 resumes sent (sometimes I sent multiple resumes to the same company because they would post multiple times)

12 initial phone screen interviews

4 second round interviews

2 third round interviews

1 offer

I was laid off 2 years ago at the same time and it did take much longer for me to find work.. almost 6 months so I feel lucky that it's less this time around. I don't know how long it's going to last this time but I might start working on a back up plan just in case this happens again because I can almost guarantee it will.

Approx Price for a Narrow Built In?

This area is about 30" wide, I need the opening at the bottom to allow for air flow from the floor vent. I don't really want glass doors at the top, just regular ones. I thought about building with Ikea but I don't know if that's possible because all of theirs go straight to the floor.
