Black Bolt/White Flare will create more grail cards out of any other set.
Hear me out here, since i have a feeling a lot of people aren't aware of the situation that BB/WF is in
BB/WF is the fastest climbing modern set outside of Ascended Heroes and 151, which considering the circumstances of those two sets is insane to think about. BB/WF does not have people pumping it, its not a scalpers favourite set, its not got a Zard/Pika/Mewtwo/Greninja - it is the third fastest climbing set through completely natural means.
The set is so beloved by Gen Z, and so sought after that it is silently eclipsing almost every single set talked about in the community. The price to master set BB/WF combined almost matches Ascended Heroes master set. The price to master set JUST BB or WF, is more than 90% of modern master sets.
Thats all raw cards though. Now take into account PSA 10s, which if you dont know - BB/WF has some of if not the most difficult PSA 10 rates in modern Pokemon.
On average it takes
- 6 packs to pull an IR.
- There is 150 IRs, which means it would take 900 packs on average to pull a specific IR.
- Then take into account that most IRs have a very low 10 rate, its thousands of packs for a psa 10 of any illustration rare.
There are popular pokemon with as low as a 5% PSA 10 rate, some of the MOST popular pokemon have around a 10% and the highest rates reach around 30%.
- Zoroark/Zorua is a 20%
- Oshawott/Krookodile/Seismitoad is 15%
- Emboar/Samurott is 20%
- Snivy is 10%,
- Volcarona is 5%
These are just some of the more popular pokemon listed. Then take into account the amount of artists in BB/WF. People will want a PSA 10 solosis to pair with bubble mew, people will want a psa 10 seismitoad since its shinja kanda (this going for 1.2k right now, almost as much as the most expensive 151 PSA 10)
And then on top of that you take into account that Gen 5 got a LOT of Mega evolutions to fan favourites, which when they inevitably get cards for will retroactively boost their BB/WF card.
And on top of that Gen 5 is the next "remake" game, or is primed for a Legends sort of game.
Gen 5 is usually touted as the Gen that started pokemons "downfall" - its when interest started waning a bit, and the games/designs were not loved by existing fans/millenials. But, Gen Z loved it and Gen Z is a massive chunk of the newcomers into the TCG space. Theres demand for this gen that really only exists for Gen 1 or specific popular kemon like Eeveelutions/Greninja.
This set will be highly sought after, as is proven by how its already a top 3 fastest growing set and its got more going for it than any other set right now. Im not making this post as "investment advice" since im more of a collector, but if you're someone whos been waiting to collect BB/WF just know its going to get harder and harder.
