**READ THIS** NFA Injunction/Partial Repeal Megathread v2

Welcome to the new megathread for the injunction on NFA enforcement for SBRs, SBSs, Suppressors/silencers.

The previous megathread with a bunch of speculation, discussion, etc can be found here.

As of this post there has been no clear guidance from the ATF on what the status quo is going forward. Hopefully there will be some later today or tomorrow.

When that happens, I'll update this post.

While this is a huge win for the 2A community, it does not yet mean the doors are thrown open for DIY building or buying without a Form 1 or 4. There's still a lot to untangle with the Gun Control Act of 68, ATF regulations on FFLs, and individual state laws.

Unless info is coming from a reputable legal resource, be cautious before doing anything. It's entirely possible that something that looks legal today could be a felony tomorrow.

**All the standard rules of this sub are still being enforced.**This especially includes anything that could be interpreted as advocating violating federal law.

We don't want the sub to be shut down by reddit, and the reddit admins know far less about this situation than we do. They could easily nuke us for something they simply don't understand.

The sub is now unlocked for posting.

Any posts on the situation will be removed unless previously coordinated with the mods. We're not going to approve your post unless its especially useful to the community as a whole. Ask your questions, celebrate, etc in this thread only.

Be wary of Guntoob, social media, and Reddit "lawyers" and social media personalities making bold claims. The above *should* all be safe sources of info.

**IT'S HAPPENING** NFA injunction, post restriction in effect

As of this post, there's just under three and one half hours until the NFA injunction goes into effect.

Due to the flood of posts and comments in the sub, and the potential for bad actors, spam, and other shenanigans that could draw the wrath of the Reddit Admins, we've placed the sub in a temporary lockdown state.

Making new posts is temporarily disabled. We will NOT be approving join requests while this is in effect.

Comments are enabled, but accounts with little to no history in this sub may have comments collapsed.

Please do not make broad legal claims about the status of things without solid, authoritative sources to back it up. This is the most likely way for the sub to get in trouble with Reddit. Doing so will result in your comment being removed, and you may be banned for it.

We understand this isn't likely going to be a popular move, but it's better than waking up tomorrow to the sub being banned by Reddit.

***REMINDER*** Rule 4 is still being enforced. Stamp approvals go to the approval megathread. NFA rule changes and Texas court case have megathreads, too.

A lot of folks recently have forgotten about Rule #4 of this sub, despite the fact that it's listed in the sidebar and explicitly mentioned in the automod comment on almost every single post in this sub.

>Posts related to approval of NFA items are to be directed to the monthly megathread. Violation of this rule can result in a 7 day ban. Pictures of approved items are welcomed.

Here's a convenient link to the current pinned approval megathread.

You are welcome to post a photo of your newly approved NFA item itself as long as you don't violate the 'suppressor junk photo' aka dickcan policy.

Any text posts about getting approved, email screenshots, approved form screenshots, etc will get you a 7 day ban from the sub. Same with dickcans.

We also currently have pinned megathreads for the impending NFA rule changes (engraving requirement, 5320.20 for interstate movement, etc) as well as the Silencer Shop vs ATF court ruling in Texas that has found many of the provisions of the NFA unconstitutional. Please use those megathreads for the relevant topics, as well.

^(This isn't that hard, people.....)

Rampant, frequent, and sometimes coordinated abuse of report function - any solutions?

One of the subs I moderate has had an issue for several months now with flagrant abuse of the report feature. Posts are often being reported for prohibited transactions or targeted harassment, even when the post or comment is clearly neither one of those per Reddits published standards. In many cases, the reports are happening weeks or months after the original post. Myself and the other mods use the option to report the abuse, but unfortunately we still often see posts or comments removed by Reddit after the fact, and in some cases users have been automatically suspended or banned from Reddit.

Is there anything further we can do to protect the sub and the users in it from this? Frankly, we suspect its part of a concerted effort to get our sub restricted or shut down, and the mod team is concerned we will lose the sub with no notice.

New Berger 120gr Long Range Hybrid 6mm projectile

The leaks started dripping out last week, but Berger announced their new 120gr 6mm LRHT today.

Listed as a .328 G7 BC and 1.383" bullet OAL. Recommended twist is 7.5.

For comparison, the 109 LRHT has a .292 G7 and 1.277 OAL, with a 8 twist recommended.

To show how bonkers that BC is on the new 120gr, the 6.5mm 140 Hybrid has a .311 G7, and the 144 LRHT has a .336.

Running the new 120 at 2700-2750 from a GT should give some pretty amazing wind performance for a small 6mm.

Also, if someone wanted to get freaky with it, the new 120 at 3200 (think 6mm SAUM) would make NRL Hunter power factor by 4k. Their max MV is 3275.

Short and light suppressor for 338ARC?

Anyone have any suggestions for short, light suppressors that would go well on an 8" AR in 338ARC? Needs to support subsonic and supersonic, with a preference for better subsonic performance. ~6" max length, ~12oz max weight, HUB/PlanB compatible, roughly $1200 or less budget. Not expecting any 'hard use' type needs on this, mostly going to be used for hog hunting where I'm rarely shooting more than 5-10 rounds at a time.

Current contenders are Tisha 9mm or the EA Sonus 9k. I've already got an Omega 36M I could use for this, but I am considering other options since 1) new can! and 2) the 36M bounces around between hosts as is, and I kinda want this to be a dedicated can for this 338ARC build.

Edit: Didn't realize the Milkman was listed for 338ARC, so add that to the list.
