Did I fuck up or improve my rifle?

I was very torn about painting my Bushmaster. The whole rattle can debate that it destroys the value and it's a lengthy process to remove the paint job. I also think a plain black rifle is badass but I got over zealous and wanted to do a Gordon at home project. I even painted my Aimpoint Pro which hurt a bit. I put tape on the Bushmaster logo and Windham, ME part to preserve it. I also threaded on my linear comp and painted it for a dollar general OTB suppressor look. Painted my cheap eBay light too. This isn't my first rattle job but not my best. Honestly just looking for some insight if I should keep it as is, strip the paint, or try another camo pattern. I think once I wear down the paint it will look better.

H&R M16A1 and 723

I guess it’s true what they say
When you start
There’s no going back

The M16A1 has always been a dream gun of mine since I first watched full metal jacket at the age of 12 years old, and now I have one. That said I had to have more and have started down this rabbit hole and I’m loving it. The 723 is shaping into Gordy’s rifle, yeah it’s not clone correct having the aimpoint 9000 but eventually it will be. The M16A1 I also have the m203 hand guard for and I’m wanting to get a M16A2 to mount it on but currently having to wait on my m1897 trench gun to get finished before I can buy another rifle.
There’s worst things to be hooked on then guns.

What the fuck is this?

So I've been keeping an eye out for a carry handle mount for my pawn shop dissipator and randomly found this thing for 10 bucks. I can't seem to find anything similar which makes me think it's probably some super Chinese junk. I've tried reverse image searching and googling the serials and I have come up empty-handed. Y'all got any ideas on what this is?

Who Wore the C-MORE Better?

Two Retro-ish guns, one Retro Optic. Who should keep the Gooseneck C-More: the 733-ish carbine or the A2 Dissipator?

Grabbed a Police Trade in XM15, it's ugly but the internals are good as new

Id love any input from you retro AR folks on how I can fix this thing up to be better. I was thinking about doing a Form 1 and getting a kitty cat upper on it and going from there. Im all ears!

Another VA tribute receiver

Got this one done up custum by Bad Attitude Dept. Early M16A1 receiver motif, with a tweak to the VA state seal instead of the Colt Pony. Huge shout out to u/BadAttitudeDept for excellent work. My third receiver from them so far.

The engraving is not as bold or deep as I expected, so need to figure out best options for painting.

Non-F FSB

I am looking for a non-F FSB for a 723 restro mod and I was planning on ordering it from Retro Rifle but apparently, they aren't taking orders right now because they're moving. They also don't give any date so does anyone have recommendations on where I can get a non-F FSB in the meantime?

Clone Correct Engravings

I was hoping to learn and hopefully get some advice as I come close to closing out this clone/build.

Historically, I purchased the upper first under the belief it was a Colt M16A1 upper. As time as gone on, I’ve learned it is technically a 603 upper and is in fact made by Colt. I was a little upset to find out the bolt was swapped for an SP1 bolt but I can always swap that later.

When it came to picking the lower, I thought I knew what I was doing picking up a beautiful roll marked lower. I found out that the serial number range of 4 million (4019XXX) results in a very confusing range on commercial, Air Force 604, etc.

Anyway, long story short, I wanted to ask for any advice/additional info on the build, if I’m still on the right path, and most importantly, if I was to get it engraved with a clone correct Colt Logo, which would that be? Would it be a centered Pony, or a offset Pony with Colt AR15?

Ar year date identification

Hey guys, I found this rifle on some local forums and was wondering what you guys think of it? I’ve seen a lot of these rifles but a ton of them have ban features but this one seems to have none of them and I’m unsure if that’s normal or not

AEM5-ready uppers?

Looking around trying to figure out what my options are. Best thing I've seen so far is this 14.5 p&w to 16 inch upper from thoroughbred armament.

I like that it's plug and play, you just buy it and slap the suppressor on. I know a lot of people build but I'd rather just buy at this point. Suggestions?

Gordy-style stuff is what im looking for btw, I know there's plenty of Mk12 uppers that are AEM5 ready.

16in build :)

Pretty happy with how it turned out. Essentially a H&R M16A1 with a 16in pencil barrel and Portuguese AR10 style mid length handguards. A2 FSB and A2 rear aperture swapped in the carry handle.

Colt M7 62316 Bayonet on My XM16E1

Didn’t even know Colt themselves manufactured these bayonets until I found one!

Colt assigned part number 62316 to their “New Model” M7 design. These were produced under contract by the Imperial Knife Company of Providence, Rhode Island, around 1963–1964

Roughly 30,000 units made. But Only about 8,000 made it into U.S. military service (mostly Vietnam era). The remaining ~22,000 sat in storage until the early 1990s, when Colt sold them off as surplus/export.

There were also licensed versions made in West Germany by Carl Eickhorn (marked “Made in W. Germany”), but the true US-made Imperial/Colt ones are the prized ones

Dynamic Duo

Two Vortex Vipers cowitness and they don’t starburst like a lot of ones I’ve used in the past. I think they turned out very well and they are very accurate for no barrel than I have here. Thanks for looking I like sharing. Kinda proud of them.

Proper torque for rifle buffer tube?

I know a castle nut is 35-40 lb, but I am building a lower now with an A1 stock, and would like to know the official army manual information for torque on the rifle receiver extensions (as they call them). Can anyone confirm?
