Wasilla, AK Police Rifle. Featured on Alaska State Troopers S2E1

Seen plenty of builds like this on the sub but I never thought I’d see one being used by police. 😂

Accidentally bought the 1964 pattern crowning tool instead of a pre-1964 tool. Would it still work to re-crown an M1 Carbine?

I want to re-crown a couple M1 carbines like another user I’ve seen, can’t remember his name of the top of my head, I’ll leave his username in a comment later. I wanted to get the pre-1964 pattern like he bought but I instead accidentally bought a 1964 pattern due to the confusing listings on Midway USAs website. Is there anyway I can still use this to re-crown the barrel or should I return it?

Sets I’d like to see

  1. USCG MH60 Jayhawk Helicopter

  2. USN SH60 Seahawk Helicopter

  3. USCG 45ft Response Boat

4/5: USMC LVT of some sort

I think these would all be good set ideas. I’m not sure how well the Coast Guard stuff would sell but I’d like to see them personally. Since Cobi has already released Blackhawk Helicopters they could fairly easily just rerelease both the Jayhawk and Seahawk Helicopters in their color schemes.

Specific color recommendations?

I’m trying to replicate this rifle I’m thinking of using Rapco sand and maybe a light brown. I can’t tell if there’s green on the back if if it’s just weird lighting.

Is Load-X ammo reliable?

I’m looking for a cheap FMJ/TMJ .30 carbine ammo and this seems like a good deal. Has anyone used this brand before? Is it reliable?

Carbine stock marking ID?

This is the only marking I’ve been able to find under my M1 Carbines stock. Can anyone ID the manufacturer? This marking is under the stock plate. The handguard is marked “P-U” for Pedersen Bros. and the wood matches well but I don’t see any other markings on the stock itself.

My Carbines

Top: 1943 produced National Postal Meter, undated Marlin barrel, Rock-Ola trigger housing, barrel band/ bayonet lug is marked “SI”, rear sight is marked “SA”, Front sight is marked EU, handguard is marked “P-U” and has only 2 rivet holes, I haven’t been able to find any markings on the stock itself. I think it’s an Interarms import, I can only make out “Alex, VA” on the import stamp. This carbine has the earlier adjustable rear sight.

Bottom: 1944 produced Underwood, barrel is an Underwood with a flaming bomb and “P” underneath, barrel band/ bayonet lug is marked “KI”, and the rear sight is marked “L.R. CO”. It is likely an import from Israel based on the serial number and shaving on the stock. I couldn’t find any manufacturer markings on the stock. This carbine has the last type of rear sight. I bought this one from Aim.

Both have type 4 stocks. I can’t wait to take them out to the range.

Best new production carbine magazines?

Based on everything I’ve read USGI mags are recommended as they feed the best but what is the best feeding new production magazine? I’ve seen these Mora Arms and United Defense magazines but haven’t seen a lot on them. The United Defense at least has good reviews. I also only want 15 and 30rd magazines.

Underwood M1 Carbine, can anyone ID what country used it?

I recently got this Underwood M1 carbine recently which I plan to take shooting over the weekend. I think it was produced sometime from March-May 1944. I’m just curious what country used this rifle, I’ve seen other posts with rifles that have similar stock markings and that have been shaved in the same spot.

Has anyone ordered a M1 Carbine from Aim Surplus? I’m just curious on the quality. Most of the difference manufacturers are priced about the same and I’ve been looking for an M1 to add to my collection.
