Was flying around and these two figures super high up caught my eye. What is this?

Has weather always been such a nightly news staple?

I guess because weather reports as a part of the nightly news is such a common thing, I’ve never stopped to ask why it’s raining on Tuesday means I need a person standing in front of a green screen telling me about it.

I’m not against big weather lmao. I guess I’m curious if weather has always been apart of the news or if something triggered it to become such a staple.
