Is there any reason to choose the Xbox Elite Controller over the Steam Controller 2?
Hey everyone,
ever since I switched from PlayStation to PC a few years ago, I've been using the standard Xbox controller because it generally offered better compatibility with Steam games than the DualShock 4 or DualSense controllers.
Now that the Steam Controller 2 has been released, I've started looking more closely at the controller market and came across the Xbox Elite Controller. Before anyone mentions it: I understand that the Elite Controller is primarily designed and priced for the Xbox ecosystem rather than Steam's ecosystem.
However, I'm curious about what advantages the Xbox Elite Controller offers that justify its price. Here in Germany, even when it's discounted, it still costs about €70 more than the Steam Controller 2. At its regular price, it's roughly twice as expensive.
I know the two controllers are aimed at somewhat different audiences, but both are also intended to be used on PC. So what makes the Xbox Elite Controller worth the extra cost?
