Somewhere on the road from Leh to Pangong Lake, India
Pangong Lake flowing beside me like a dream on my right, mountains on the left, and freedom straight ahead. Endless Silence 🏍️💙

This one stretch of road in Ladakh - nearly 90 kilometers of pure silence, with barely any cars and almost no bikers passing by. Easily the most beautiful road I’ve ever ridden on. Endless smooth roads, crystal lakes resting quietly beside them, and the occasional village with warm smiles from the locals made the journey feel almost unreal. Some roads take you places; this one felt like peace itself ❤️
Grateful for this solo journey through the breathtaking beauty of Leh Ladakh - every mountain, road, and sunset felt magical. A truly picturesque paradise that touched my soul. 🌄✨
Edit- Added journey details
My itinerary-
Start date from Del-1st May
Del Return date-14th May
I started from Delhi on my own bike.
Day 1- Delhi to Jammu start early 600plus km stay Jammu
Day 2-Jammu to Sonmarg most people stay in Srinagar but there is odd even concept going here that odd days bikes are allowed from Sonmarg to Kargil and even days Kargil to Sonmarg so I wanted to start day 3 early from Sonmarg
Day3-Sonmarg to Kargil stay Kargil here you will cross Zojila pass prep yourself with strong winter clothes as it might snow at the top. Also visit Kargil war memorial at Dras.
Day 4-Kargil to Leh visit Leh market at evening if you want
Day 5-Acclimatize in Leh visit Shanti Stupa,Leh palace and others places as per your interest
Day 6-Leh to Nubra Valley first you will pass mighty Kardungla prep yourself will multiple lining of winter clothes then you will cross Diskit and hunder you can go to Turtuk village too stay hunder.Pro tip check weather condition you might able to see milky way at the night after 1am.very chilly here.
Day 7-Nubra to Pangong lake one of the best route via Shyok.Pro tip dont stay at spanmik village stay at Mann or Merak village less crowd and you will see 3 different colors of Pangong lake.
Day 8- Pangong to Rezangla war memorial and then people go to Hanle i skipped it got extreme cold and dark while I was travelling also getting accommodation in Hanle on the spot may be challenging as per various people I meet.So I stayed in Nyoma
Day 9- Either you return via Changla pass to Leh or via Nyoma -Mahe route many bikers I meet they chose to go via Changla pass
Day 10-Plan your return either via zanskar valley shinkula pass then manali or take the same route you came from.
fyi Baralacha pass route is closed may open after 15th May.
Day 14- Returned to home
Key note -Start taking Diamox 2 days before reaching Leh for managing oxygen level else AMS will hit badly.I understood 90 percent blood oxygen is actually good 80 and above is ok at high altitude unless you have very sick symptoms.Avomin for mountain sickness.
My total cost of trip for 14 days including food is 57k
I stayed in good enough hotels and homestays from MakeMyTrip booking. This cost can be reduced if you want to stay less in hotels and more in homestays.
Hope this helps anyone who is planning for Solo Leh Ladakh trip on Bike.
Edit-Total distance covered via bike is 3700km and total petrol cost is 10k .57k is inclusive of 10k of Petrol.
Total Hotel cost is 33k for 13 nights average 2.5k per night.
Completed my solo ride on the Leh circuit:
Delhi → Jammu → Srinagar → Sonamarg → Drass → Kargil → Leh → Khardung La → Nubra Valley → Pangong Lake → Rezang La → Nyoma → Mahe → Leh → back to Delhi via the same route.
What made this journey truly unforgettable was the incredible biking community want to appreciate the same.
The smallest gestures - a head nod, thumbs up, a simple “hi” from fellow riders - went a long way in boosting the morale of a solo riders on the Ladakh circuit. When my brakes overheated(failed), several bikers stopped without hesitation and offered help. These little acts of kindness meant more than words can express.
Truly grateful to everyone I met along the way. This ride was not just about the roads or the mountains, but about the people who made the journey special.
What a ride. What a journey. 🙏
Until our paths cross again- ride safe and keep the brotherhood alive.
I completed the Del-Jammu-Srinagar-Kargil-Leh-Nubra Valley-Pangong Lake-Rezangla-Nyoma-Mahe-Leh circuit solo on my Harley Davidson X440 Vivid bike.
I want to appreciate each and every Ladakhi person I meet during my journey. They are so happy and content in life. They will go beyond and far to make you feel welcomed and will help you with every little query.
Please never change.
What a journey it has been truly grateful 🙏
