Weybridge recommendations

Hi All, my partner & I are hopefully moving to Weybridge in a few months, and it would be great to hear of some recommendations for the following:
- Good gyms
- Doggy Daycare?
- Best pubs!
- Which tennis club to join (I’m not very good but want to join one for the social and fitness aspect)
- Nice walking routes with dogs
- Nice running routes
- Things to do that aren’t obvious but locals know about them!?

Any recommendations will be very much welcome! Thanks in advance!

One supplement you absolutely cannot go without?

I’ve tried lots of supplements over the years and none have had a lasting impact. Those include:
- Creatine
- Magnesium Glycinate
- L-Theanine
- Ashwaganda
- Lions Mane

I must admit, I do travel a lot for work so the routine of taking said supplements can be affected.

I’d like to ask the question… what supplement has had the biggest noticeable impact on your life and you now cannot go without having it?

Cycling Men’s 10km Scratch Race crash - any update??

Anyone know of any updates to the Malaysian rider I think it was, who seemed seriously injured from the big crash in the men’s 10km scratch race??

Really troubling scenes to see him stretchered off and rushed away. Did not look good.

Any updates please share. Really hoping he will be relatively ok.

Anyone watching/interested in Commonwealth Games?

Curious to see what the appetite is for watching Commonwealth Games from Olympic fans? Always looks like it’s relatively well attended in the arenas which is great

Why is the MotoGP UK round not at Donington Park?

Probably been answered many times before but why is the UK round of MotoGP not at Donington Park? Racing is usually very good there, and will feel busy if World Superbikes is consistently bringing in crowds of 50,000 each year…

Is it a safety issue? Or who owns the circuits? Or can the owner of Donington Park simply not afford the fee Dorna demands for hosting the event? Very interested to know if anyone has any insight…

It would be great if it felt like a big event and looked really busy, instead of what it currently feels like at Silverstone…

Dinner recommendations and places to play pool

Friend is visiting this weekend and very interested to hear any recommendations for places to go for dinner in Ealing Broadway? Also would be a bonus for any recommendations to play pool?

For dinner, I’ve taken them to Reineta before which was lovely but ended up being a bit on the pricier side. Are there any good Italians in Ealing Broadway? Also, what’s the Polish restaurant like for food in Dickens Yard? My partner and I used to go to the Italian, Sikulo a lot in Northfields which was great! So that might be a contender…

To play pool… I’ve been to Boom Battle Bar a few times - the tables are a bit worn out and not looked after, and also the pub towards West Ealing, the Prince Arthur, but it gets a bit too rowdy in there. Not a fan of the old method of putting a quid on the table anymore (I know it’s not great is it…)

So any recommendations please fire away!! Thanks in advance

Cathay Pacific priority seats

I know this is about Cathay Pacific and it’s a BA page but I’m going to assume a lot of BA frequent flyers will be able to help with this…

I’m flying in Premium Economy and the available seats left are not great. There are some seats available but are priority for people who require special assistance and your seat can be reassigned if someone books who needs special assistance.

Has anyone ever booked a seat like this, and if yes, and had to move, where did you end up? I’d rather not be bumped down to economy but I feel like run the risk of this happening if I choose one of those seats? Please let me know your thoughts if you’ve done it before!

Honest assessment of Toprak after 8 rounds in MotoGP?

I’ll start by saying I’m a BIG Toprak fan. And really want him to succeed. I thought yesterday’s main race at Balaton was a perfect chance to secure his first top 10, but sadly not.

It’s been a rude awakening for Yamaha with the M1 this year. Just look at Fabio… he seems to have already given up (yes I’m aware he’s off to Honda but still almost two thirds of the season left)…

All Toprak can do is beat his fellow Yamahas, and to be honest he is consistently doing that. The move to Pirelli’s next year will be fascinating but I do fear it won’t be the leveller a lot are expecting as Yamahas problems won’t miraculously improve.

We all know how much of a beast Toprak was in WorldSBK, and hope after a season of learning the circuits and a MotoGP bike, he will be a force in 2027. One thing that stuck with me during his WorldSBK days was when Garrett Gerloff was at the satellite BMW team and he had all the access to Toprak’s data, and he said yes it’s all good and well seeing the data and understanding it, but there’s one clear distinction… you can look at all the data you want from Toprak, but no one here can do what he can do on a bike, so it’s pointless.

Honest assessment… he’s doing a solid job on quite clearly the worst bike on the grid.

Would love to hear how others rate his first 8 MotoGP rounds.

EDIT: bonus question: Should Toprak have joined MotoGP after he won his first WorldSBK title in 2021? Apparently had satellite offers on the table but his manager wanted a factory ride…

What is going on this morning?! Walking to the gym and see a man getting arrested at West Ealing Broadway where the busy bus stop area is. Didn’t think much of it. But now there’s a huge commotion with a man in a suit on the floor across the road from ENERGYM. Appears to be in handcuffs but looks to be in distress. Police and ambulances everywhere…

If anyone has any idea what’s going on please share?! I know West Ealing Broadway is a little on the rough side but looks like two separate arrests in an hour which don’t seem connected is not good …
