(F4M) Literate Fantasy Romance

Hi, I’m Ana (F21). I’ve been on a roleplay hiatus for a couple of years, but I’m looking to hop back into it! The itch has returned.

Hopping straight into my writing style, I predominantly write in the third person. I’ve got no issues with first person writing, it’s just my preference. While I am rusty, my responses range from 3-7 paragraphs. Context depending, of course. Detail is a must have for me, let’s make that picture in our head into some words! My grammar isn’t perfect, I don’t expect yours to be either. All I ask is to try and remember your second grade teacher’s lessons on punctuation and the proper use of their and there.

I am a little more strict on my plot preference. I’m seeking a fantasy based romance plot. Fantasy is a favorite genre of mine. Throwing in extra species races, magic, and anything else we can come up with enriches writing so much. For me, at least. And if you share an enjoyment for enemies to lovers tropes, hit me up this second 💥

2 week notice incoming.

Every time I land a job in retail, I quit for the exact same reason. Disrespectful management. My first job at 16 I quit because my 60+ year old manager yelled in my face in front of customers.

My second job, I had to cut my hours to take care of my mother after surgery. My manager claimed I could work more than 20 hours.

My third job at a very cool video game store came to a sad end when my boss kept record and photos of all female staff.

And now I’m quitting again. For that same reason. And I’m more upset than I have been quitting my other jobs. I’m a store lead at a dispensary. My customers are amazing, I love the science and education behind my work, and I find the job genuinely fulfilling. So this realization that I can do better elsewhere is disappointing.

My grandmother passed away five days ago on Saturday. We were very very close, and while she was deteriorating for a long time, her passing wasn’t any less painful. I wasn’t scheduled that day, but I was scheduled the following Sunday and Monday. I requested to have those two days off, and this was granted. I was asked if any more days would be needed, and I told them I was uncertain. I was assured I could take as much time as I need. Every employer says this, none actually mean it in the sense of each word. I’m aware of this.

I was not scheduled yesterday (Tuesday), but I was today. However, I wake up to a frantic call from my mother. She’s in shambles over this on top of car trouble my parents are going through. She asks if I can come over and just talk. I call in to work and say I can’t come in, as my family is in a low place and I need to be there for them.

My store manager is the first person I contact. He insists no one can work in my place. I tell him that I’m sorry, but my family takes precedent over work. He asks if the service is today. It’s this upcoming weekend. He asks me when she passed (he was told already) and the circumstances of her passing. He then tells me I have no reason to call in unless I am at the service, and he’s doubting details in my story.

Along with my two weeks (once I’ve got another gig lined up) he will get a copy of her obituary.
