My education major graduation cap inspired by Paciencia y Fe. First-Generation graduate! 🇵🇷

Growing up Black and Puerto Rican, Lin Manuel Miranda inspired me to live out my dreams through his music! Today, I got to reach my dreams of being an American educator! To honor my family legacy, I felt compelled to have Abuela Claudia’s line on my graduation cap! 🇵🇷

My first/last excellence award!

I wrote about my student in my professional development plan who is EC and struggled heavily with math when I first met them, then after working with them on math, they ended up passing their math state test!! Guess that warranted an award!

Your favorite Spanish boy/girl names?

I’m Latina, no where near having a child as I am graduating college soon, and have just been thinking abt future baby names!

It may change but my #1 girl name is Estrella (I’m obsessed with the stars) and my #1 boy name is Santiago or Giovanni (stuck between the two).

I’ve always wanted a Spanish name for my future child so I wanted to hear your favorite Spanish names!

Last day of student teaching, soon will be graduating!

Had my last day of student teaching yesterday, very heartbreaking to say goodbye to the kids, but had a beautiful placement experience nonetheless! My mentor teacher, students, and a fifth grade teacher whom I would often visit gave me goodbye gifts for my future classroom!

I will be a fifth grade ela/ss teacher in the fall so I’m excited for the journey ahead!

Just wanted to share some positive light this week in saying that I submitted the edtpa yesterday evening, which took up abt four months of my life! I have eight days left of my placement so it’s coming up quick!

I should receive scores back next month, but I don’t have to hypothetically pass the edtpa to graduate so I’m in the clear university-wise! I just have one more requirement for my course, some reflection papers, and finish everything up in order to graduate!
