Can anyone tell me what my next classes consist of?

Feeling burnt out from all of the GoReacts and Mursions lately. Trying to push through, but it feels repetitive at this point. Please tell me these last few courses aren't more of the same thing. I know a few recently changed from OA to PA, but any information is helpful.

D769 - Secondary Literacy Methods and Interventions

D900 - Methods of Teaching Secondary Mathematics

D897 - Advanced Probability and Statistics

D899 - Statistics for Secondary Mathematics Teaching

D894 - Advanced Calculus

D805 - Secondary Disciplinary Literacy

Do I really need to take both Praxis tests for Advanced Clinicals/graduation?

I'm sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere! I've already completed my Basic Skills Praxis test(s) and have been cleared for Early Clinicals. However, when I look at the handbook, the Praxis required for WGU graduation is different than my state's licensing requirements (WGU calls for the Praxis 5039, and my state calls for the Praxis 5038). I actually completed the 5038 and passed it over the weekend. Am I really going to need to take the 5039, too?

I've asked my advisor this question and have not received a response. Just wanted to ask here in case I get a faster answer from you guys!

EDIT: I had a meeting with my one of my region's clinical coaches this morning (my mentor was useless, by the way; they just redirected me to the clinical coaches). WGU is revamping the requirements for state licensure and WGU graduation, and I will NOT have to do both.

Praxis 5165

I am currently a student at WGU and am preparing for my initial clinical experiences. As I reside out of state (CA), I am required to complete additional examinations beyond the Praxis 5165 for advanced clinicals. I would like to begin studying for the Praxis now to complete one of the four required tests.

Could you please recommend some resources? Are there any YouTube playlists you would suggest? Are there any low-cost options available?

Success story

I figured I would come on here and share my amazing success with my bachelors degree from WGU (educational studies non-licensure)
I graduated on the 11th and secured my first teaching job today, 4 days after graduating. I will begin my teaching career with a kindergarten class, and I am beyond grateful!

FINISH THAT DEGREE GUYS! Nothing has ever been more worth it!

D703 Fine Arts rant

I’m writing the explanation on why my art piece reflects my learning objective. Can’t I just write I followed my own rubric? It fits the objective because I designed the piece around the objective and the rubric! I feel like I sound ridiculous as I’m writing ugh.

Why are they accepting new students at such a high rate if student teaching placement takes forever?

The heading pretty much sums it up, why are they taking new student every month when it takes 9+ months to be placed in some districts? This is so unfair to the students that are at the end of their degree, want to start their new career, just to be told you need to wait almost another year. I read a few days ago a student in the PNW was told they're being kicked out of the program because WGU cannot find placement for them. I have several contacts in the district and I'm considering contacting them myself for placement. Has anyone else successfully done this? Were there any consequences?

Not looking for hate, came here for hope.

Elementary Fine Arts Methods D695 OA study help!

Hey, everyone, I was just wondering if anyone had a Quizzlet or a study guide that they found helpful for their Elementary Fine Arts Methods D695. This is my last test, and I don't want to have to retake it. I did that one time, and it was so many hoops to jump through. I will try my hardest to pass everything the first time after that! I have found the professors' emails helpful. Is that what you found helpful as well? Thanks for any input. This class just seems to have a lot of new-to-me information that I just have to memorize.

CA Exams

I am pursuing the licensure pathway for secondary mathematics and had a question regarding content examinations like CSETS. Some information suggests these may be waived, but I have also heard that they might be required for student teaching.

Knocked out my Basic Skills course today! 🤩💃🏽💕🥰

I took all the peace tests first. I did pretty good on them. So I took each test with a break between each one. I didn’t want my back or eyes wearing out. Did a quick prayer and relaxed. I got to get ready to take my state test in a few weeks. Anyone who is preparing to take WGU basic skills course I want you to know it was worth the $25 fee and convenience.

D663

How are we getting a low similarity score for task 2 for D663. The entire assignment is basically copy and paste directly from the class. Do we have to just provide citations to avoid redoing the entire thing. Which how in the world do you site the course itself just type in all information provided by the course. I really don't want to redo this task. I want to move on to my second and third class already but I have been stuck on this first class for a week already just trying to get my similarity report to be less then 80%.

Clinical placements and Student teaching

I’ve posted here a few times about waits for clinical’s. My Early Clinical wait was close to 4 months, but I am happy to say my wait time for Advanced Clinical placement was 2 weeks.

I was so discouraged after the Early Clinical wait it was torture, but I do think, for me, it came down to the districts in my area not knowing what the 15 hours was for so being skeptical of it. My advice to anyone waiting for clinicals, do your praxis early, get your states requirement of fingerprints along with WGUs, and get ready to attempt your state exams asap. Those can all help speed things up a touch.

I am wondering, from anyone that is currently in their student teaching or done, on how long you waited from Advanced Clinical’s to the Student Teaching to start. Was it just the two weeks, or was it longer?
