About lift pump fuel pressure common rail 5.9 third gen.

Back story. My truck was losing power while climbing long grades, and felt like it was de-fueling. Bought a Max-Tow (glow shift) digital fuel pressure gauge that attaches to the bottom of the fuel filter housing. The gauge showed 7 psi at idle and at cruise speeds but would drop to zero with full throttle. Bought an oreillys $160 dollar lift pump and now the pressure is 16 psi at idle and 12 psi at full throttle.
Highly recommend a low pressure fuel gauge.
And if your pressure is 7 psi, it’s probably too low.
