Fork Recon Gold TK -> Pike Select+

I have a Tallboy C v2 I've been building up so frequently checking marketplace. I'm a novice rider focused more on trails than downhill, but also a larger rider too.

The Tallboy has the Recon Gold TK fork with solo air and 120mm of travel. Right now the stem is at about 7.75". It holds air but I'm sure could use a service

I'm seeing a good price on probably a 2021 Pike Select+ with a Lyrik Charger 2.1 in it, but only a 7" steerer.

Is this a noticeable/beneficial upgrade for my size and skill level?

Would compensation for steerer tube with a handlebar with more rise make sense?

Just do nothing and enjoy what I have?
