How bad are the "bad" pictures on an Oppo Find 9X Pro?

I currently have a base S23. The camera was fine but my autofocus became a bit wonky, something probably broke. It'll focus but also constantly zoom in and out a little. And looking at other phone camera pictures nowadays it lacks quite some detail.

I love how stable the S23 OS is, I have no issues ever. Performance and battery wise the S23 suits all my needs. I'm mostly interested in flagships for the good camera. I can buy a 9X Pro 16GB / 512GB for 550 euro through my job benefits. Vivo X300 etc. isn't available, all other big brands are.

I won't use the front camera, like ever. I'm only interested in pictures during day on vacation, events with partner and some low light on vacation on streets or cafés with lights everywhere.

I hate how bad my S23 is in low light. I've noticed that most flagships seem to be alright on that part nowadays.

Just seeing a lot of critique on the AI post-edits of pictures for this phone. But never actually seen an example of what others consider bad. Does anyone have an example or are most complaining about 1% improvements that are barely noticeable?

Also a bit curious as to what proper case to buy, always used Spigen Tough Armor but none of the big brands have Oppo cases.

How stable is Opposoftware wise?

I've had OnePlus 7 Pro, great phone on paper but after 3 years it was buggy as hell. Constantly freezing, camera not loading,...

Now have Samsung S23. Software wise it has been very smooth and stable. However my camera is a bit lackluster and has auto focus problem. Quality also seems to have gone down somehow.

I'm eye-ing the Oppo Find X9 Pro 16GB. I can purchase it through my gross salary for 550 euro or so. Was originally going for Samsung S26 Ultra or wait for S27 but seems like Oppo is better.

I'm just a bit worried about bugs. I just want good camera. Use Reddit, YouTube, browsing and sometimes some light gaming.

FYI, Vivo isn't a brand I can buy through work. Was originally looking at X300 too.
