LO is 4mo and will be out of his sidebar bassinet in the next couple months. Keen to go a sidecar off our bed but unsure which cots are best for this. Ideally one that you can still pick child up/place down over the rails too without too much difficulty (think bad back).

Baby is 15wks old, he is EBF on demand. Have been incorporating possums approach, following his cues for sleep. As a general rule in the day he will only contact nap. Mostly fine tho at some point I’d love him to go into bassinet so I can move freely (he currently refuses the carrier) but that is low priority!

Naps during the day are around 15-30 min until the evening he tends to do longer ones. He mostly sleeps from about 8pm but we don’t put him down till he falls asleep around when we go to bed around 10-11

The last few weeks he started waking anywhere from 40min to 3hr intervals, and will will not transfer to bassinet at all. He wakes within 2 minutes of being put down but falls asleep as soon as you pick him up, so I feel like sleep pressure isn’t the issue?

We have tried bed sharing a couple times but there’s no way for us to do it safely now that he’s moving so much, sadly.

We get up around 7, he gets daylight exposure early in the day. We have lots of activities. He won’t sleep except a contact nap during the day and he stirs easily from these, until after 5pm.

Any advice on transfers especially appreciated as we spend most of the precious windows he sleeps overnight awake trying to put him down and I’m beginning to be concerned for my partner and I’s safety with the sleep deprivation.

(Also posted on possums forum for reference.)
