So... I know that you can really only get good quality piercing jewelry from reputable piercing studios. *I know*.

But... How does that work, in practice?

I have a bunch of piercings. But out of all the piercing studios I've been in, only one was set up like a "shop", with glass display boxes showing a large array of gold and platinum piercing jewelry for healed piercings, like a fancy jewelry store. Most of the other studios I've visited didn't really showcase much jewelry, and certainly not fine jewelry.

Like, for example, my favorite piercer has a walk-in shop and 2 small cabinets with jewelry in the waiting/reception area, one with mostly standard titanium stuff (with a display showing the various piercings you can get) and one with stretched ear jewelry.

Now. I *have* bought piercing jewelry that happened to be on display in a studio a handful of times, but... how do you go about getting something that's not on display?

Is it like buying a Birkin, where you need to have a "relationship with the store" before they'll even let you see the catalog?

*Is* there a catalog to see? Can you browse and look at what's on offer, or do you need to have a reference picture of exactly what you want and your piercer will try to get it for you? Can any piercer get you any jewelry, or are certain studios bound to order from certain suppliers? What's the etiquette if you want to buy jewelry but not get a new piercing that day? Do all piercing shops sell fine jewelry as well as standard stuff, or is it only the ones that seem to advertise that with their shop setup? How do you approach getting a custom piece?

Like... so many questions. I'm not sure how I got to 20 piercings but still don't know this T_T

I'm currently working on an Omnissian Axe prop for my Warhammer techpriest cosplay, and I need some advice. The handle is 1m80 and won't fit in our car like that. So it needs to be able to be reassembled for transport.

It's got a logical place for the handle to be cut in two and have an attachment mechanism be hidden in the control panel/battery box... but I can't think of a secure re-attachment mechanism?

Anyone have tips or ideas? The battery box opens on one side with a magnet closure so there is access, but it's somewhat limited.

Looking for scents that scream danger, seduction, darkness. A signature scent for a powerful, dominant femme, scary but beautiful. Leather, PVC, smoke, musk, indolic florals, perhaps blood? Give me your best recommendations!
